 I've been reading that the henson family bought back the rights to the muppets, {except those on sesame street} does it mean that the family will pull the characters out of Disney studios at the end of the current contract? Or will they just ask for more money from eisner?

Where did you read this? As far as I know the Muppets are still owned by a german company. Except for the Sesame Street characters which are owned by the Childerns TV Workshop(CTW). They are up for sell and lots of rumors have been floating around but nothing concret yet.
