Looks like all the speculation about the Muppet presence at Hollywood Studios may have been correct!

I don't know what the proper etiquette is here regarding linking to Disney sites outside of The DIS, so I won't post a link, but "another site" is reporting today that Disney is confirming that an area of Hollywood Studios will be re-themed as "Muppet Courtyard." It will include the area currently housing Muppet*Vision 3D and Mama Melrose. While Disney hasn't made any official comments regarding Pizza Planet, with this confirmation, it would seem that the rumors about that restaurant getting a new Muppet them are likely true.

What I find odd is that when I did the College Program back in 2005 at DHS (MGM at the time) we all called that area Muppets Courtyard. I'm wondering just what changes are coming. No doubt Pizza Planet will get a new Muppet theme (maybe the Gonzo and Rizzo pizza restaurant that as originally planned for the park). I wouldn't mind seeing a new ride or two that as muppet themed as well. Wonder what will happen with the Christmas store or if they will just keep it Christmas style with a Muppet Christmas Carol theme or what. Also wondering what if any changes will be coming to Mama Melrose.

That makes me happy that Muppet-Vision is staying It's one of my favorite films property-wide and I'm glad to see something not "super-duper E ticket" come in, whatever comes out of this. Not saying "super-duper E tickets" are bad, I just mean it's nice to have a little break from them every once in a while

I am so excited that Muppet Vision 3D is staying. This ride was a staple of my childhood. I am a huge Muppets fan. My father has all the old Muppet show seasons on DVD. It will be exciting to see a Muppet themed courtyard coming to this area.

I think this may be unlikely but I hope that if they do meet and greets it's very similar to the Constantine meet and greet from 2014's villain event. Granted that was Matt Vogel and the actual puppet for an event but I think that it would be extremely cool!

I wasn't on the CP but that's exactly what I've always known it as. I was coming here wondering what was changing but it sounds like not a lot in that area.

I love that the Muppets will have a dedicated area. I do hope they'll update the Muppetvision theater to digital so that the 3D converges more effectively. If it's already digital, they need to remaster for better 3D.

I wish wish wish for a Muppet Dark ride. If only I could wish it into existence.

I was a CP in 2006 at DHS/MGM and also used that name regularly for that area - although we did have a lot of nicknames for things that weren't the official names.

Also, I completely forgot about the Christmas store back there, but you make a really great point. I would love to see it get a Muppet Christmas Carol theme.

Not surprising given that one of the original plans was to have that be a Muppet mini-land. It's probably called that on the blueprints.

I heard a muffled scream from my wallet... think the credit card may not be as happy about this speculation as me.
