Is the mummy ride open and is it too scary for a 6 yo

Hi, from all I have read, I think it would be a bit scary for a 6 year old - mainly because of the dark aspect of the ride. My children are 8 and 10 and I don't think they are quite ready for this one yet. Having said that, if your 6 year old has been many times, enjoys coasters and is not afraid of the dark or potentially scary projections in the dark for a child of that age, then he may be okay. I would definitely do the ride yourself first and then judge. My 8 year old loves Spiderman and Men in black but the dark aspect of these rides is themed in a different way - but last time we were in Orlando, he was 7 and very scared of Poseidon's Fury and had to come out and didn't like Haunted Mansion either. The 10 year old (then 9) was okay in both.
