Mum isn't doing so great

Talk about 1 step forward 3 steps back. Mum has a nasty wound infection now - I won't go into the details here as they are not very pleasant but it has made her really down and depressed.

It all seems really strange as Mum is usually such a fighter and looks at everything from a positive angle, but ever since her surgery she had lost alot of the will to keep going now. We were told that for the first 6 weeks she would be depressed but she seems to be getting one setback after another with very few positive days in-between.

I'm trying to stay positive but some days it is so hard.

I know all we want are the good times but we don't appreciate them until we've been through the bad ones.

Blessings and prayers for your mum, Belle. That also happened to me, the infection, and I almost died because of it. Just do whatever you can, a funny card, a special flower, a funny joke etc. Anything you do will be appreciated I am sure. Wishing your mum lots of days ahead.

So sorry to hear about your Mum! My sister has had the same problem with wound infections twice. It is awful, painful and depressing for them. The doctors advised her to make sure to keep lots of betadine around and always make sure to wash your hands before and after touching the wound. Keep Lysol in the hospital room or bedroom she is in and disinfect everything she comes in contact with before and after.

I'll keep her in my prayers.

Yes, it can be a factor but she isn't on any medication now.
