Multiple waitlist same dates

How does it work if I have 2 waitlist request for same dates same resort
2 categories?

Hi Sandisw! Is there a thread for DVC stay cancellations like there is the one for dining reservations ?! I have a one night stay waitlisted to add to my already booked stay ( need Jan 5 in a 1 bedroom standard at VGF) I have it waitlisted as well. I’m hawking the site and I always see other random rooms pop up, hoping this is fulfilled but curious if there’s a thread for people cancelling so others can stalk the site and grab it .

No, we do not allow those types of posts. Unfortunately it could lead to people trying to work around the rules for the Rent/Transfer thread.

Ok, thank you for the reply ! If my use year is Sept 21, does that mean that only someone with the same use year can transfer to me ?

No, you can recieve transfers from any use year, but they will count as your 1 transfer per year for that use year. In other words, if someone with an October 21 UY transfers to you, you can no longer recieve or send transfers for 2021 use year. The points retain the use year, so the points you recieve would have to be used by October of 2022 or banked.

The key with transfers is to make sure they will work for your trip as they retain all their own rules.

You can not borrow points that are transferred but you can bank them.

You get one transfer in our our per UY and it’s determined by the UY of the points. So, if you receive 2022 UY points, it counts as your 2022 UY transfer, even if you are in your 2021 when you get them.

For example, I could get Aug 2022 points today even though my current UY is Aug 2021. Those points could then be used for trips Aug 1st on but not borrowed for say a trip in May 2022.

Ok! That’s makes sense , so they work the Use year they are transferred from and are restricted from borrowing if they aren’t the current use year- but we can bank them for the following year . Thank you for this explanation! We are new DVC members ( 1 year ) so still learning . I appreciate your kindness and willingness to be so helpful!
