Hey All! My wife and I are new members as of Jan 2020 and have some questions we cannot seem to get answered well.

If I accept a transfer of points from another member
1) Do I see that on mydisneyvacationclub.com account or do I have to call member services to make the reservations
2) Does the transferred use year matter with respect to seeing those points on the account (Ie we are December UY and transferred points are in March lets say)

If we end up with a resale contract
1) Can we pool points from contracts at 7 months window if in same UY on line or does it have to be member services
2) Does different use year change this?
...I ask because you "select" a contract when booking and read different UY means you have two member numbers...?

Ultimately we just want to know for trying to get Grand Californian Points on transfer at some point to book at 11 months. We have lots of points for our needs at Aulani and Riviera (100 + 380) and don't just want to buy a GC contract to stay there the few times we will over the coming years. I would also hope to buy at the new DVC tower for the longer contract so would rather hold off on that versus GC resale (which seems like a unicorn I might add)

Many thanks and looking forward to some experienced feedback :)

You are allowed one transfer in or out of your UY. As long as the points are good foe the trip, they do not need to be the same UY, but they follow their own booking dates.

They will show up now online...this is new and just went in to place maybe 6 months ago. It works well to use them at 7 months, but most have had to call to use them during home resort priority.

If you buy a new contract with the same UY and same owners, it will be all one membership and you can easily book online with both...11 months out at the same resort and 7 months at all others...except RIV as resale points are not valid there unless you buy RIV...those are then only good at RIV.

Two UYs is a different membership. It is like being two different people so it’s not as easy to book a single reservation. You have to transfer or book some nights on one and some on the other.
