Multiple trip burn-out anyone?

Hi,
We have travelled to Florida most years since the mid 80's and still love it with a passion.Since we joined DVC in 2000 we have been lucky enough to vacation twice a year and each trip seems to be better than the last. Our friends and work colleagues get fed up with up us continuely talking about Orlando and Disney and one suggested perhaps we should live there! To which I replied "if the US goverment would let us we would!" What's the chance of making the UK your 51st sate??? As I write this, it is currently 50 degrees with storm force winds sweeping across the UK and driving rain, why wouldn't I want to be in the Sunshine State? Oh well only 800 hours to go to our next trip!!!!

Mick and Lyn.

Hmmm Disney Burn-out? Not yet. But, we just purchased our BCV in Feb.....

In the past year, we have gone to:
23-28 Nov 01 DL (Grand CA)
6-8 Dec 01 WDW (Polynesian)
31May-3Jun 02 WDW (Beach Club)
23 Aug-1Sep 02 WDW (Polynesian)
Next trip: 1-5 Nov (trip #21 to WDW
2nights Polynesian 2 nights OKW).
23-25 Nov 02 (possible trip to DL GC, still not decided)
30 Dec-3Jan ( trip #22 to WDW 4 nights BCV)
13-21 Apr 03 WDW (#23 Contemp)
23-26 May 03 WDW (#24 Contemp)

We also go to other places as we have a fondness for travel--generally we take an overnight trip somewhere every other month.

DS-14 has expressed an interest to stay at home on weekends and in particular doesn't like to miss school--maybe he is getting burned out. (I just don't know where we went wrong with his upbringing --LOL Though, I do try very hard to avoid interuptions to his school schedule.....)

I am positive that we would not have gone during August except for the free week stay at the Polynesian (due to buying DVC), nor would we have scheduled to go over New Year's Eve if we had not been able to stay at BCV! In August we tacked a couple of nights on and ended up staying 10 days and 9 nights (and we stayed at HH on the way down). We had such an awesome, relaxed time, we would love to stay that long again sometime--in our vacation home away from home!
Can't wait for New Year's and our first stay at BCV!

Bought WLV in 2001 and BCV in 2002. In 2002, I spent 5 nights in January with a girlfriend. Then had to go back to Lake Buena Vista for a business meeting in February, just had to take another girlfriend and make a 5 night trip out of it. Took my grandchildren the week before Easter and my husbands' grandchildren the week after Easter. Just had to stay at my new BCV purchase and so just got back from 4 nights with another couple. Yes, I'm a little burned out. My initial plan was to use points for my grandchildren's spring break every other year, and use points to do something different on "off" years. So my 2003 points will be used for a 10 day stay in Maui. By 2004, I figure I'll be ready to return, with several new attractions to try out. I think that the first year of ownership makes you really want to be there, and also I got an annual pass that I wanted to take advantage of. I do find, though, that even if I feel a little burned out while I'm there, I start to want another trip on the horizon as soon as I get home.

I feel excately the same way!!! I was starting to get burned out on my last trip in Sept but that trip was too long for me it was 16 nights and I had just been at WDW in late May for 12 nights! But once I got home I again can't wait to go back! 46 days and counting !!!

WOW!!! Thanks for all the replies. Good reading about how others are feeling.

Just got back from a long weekend in Pittsburgh to attend a wedding (distant relative). Boy, was it a long drive - especially with traffic. DH and I kept commenting on how the drive to/from FL seemed so much better even though it was twicw as long.

Lots of windy roads - the kids puked on the way there and back - always bring changes of clothes in an overnight bag!

Thank goodness for DVDs and a laptop computer! What did they watch? You guessed it - Disney movies! Ok - and Shrek too. What did DH & I talk about while the kids were quiet watching movies? Yep, our trips for next year.

DH really wants to move to FL permanently! I went to school in Miami and my family still keeps a second home there. He's been bugging me about it for years - he really wants to get out of NY. DH wants to either build a house somewhere - or maybe modify an existing one.

Sooooo, to humor him - we are probably going to go down to Miami/South FL next year (May) to "look" around since we haven't decided where to settle. We'll probably need to work in a trip to visit his brother in NC (new house & new baby #3) somewhere too. If we drive, maybe we'll stop by HH or VB for a few days - we do have a few banked points that need to be used next year.

Ahhh, to be so close to WDW and not go? :( This can't be too long a trip - DH needs to save some vacation days for my cousin's wedding in Maryland next July. So, it looks like we may skip a family trip to WDW next year.

But not to worry - I may wind up taking one or both girls down to WDW for a few days on my own to meet up with my fellow DVCer Aunt and some of her girls. ;)

But nothing's set in stone yet....

P.S. When we finally got home, DD (almost 4) plopped on the sofa and announced "we got to Disney World!!!" That gave me a laugh!
