Does anyone know if I can rent a car at MCO for 2 days (we need it for the first few days of offsite things we need to do) then drop the car off at the Disney Car Care center then take magical express to MCO 5 days later?

I "think" this will work but want to make sure I wont have any issues with a one way Magical Express back to the airport. Also, We will be staying at Beach Club when we drop off the car at the Disney Car Care Center. Anyone know how I get from there to the BC? Uber? or is there by chance a shuttle?

thank you!

You can do that. There should not be a drop off fee for returning the car to the Car Care Center.
Car Care Center Shuttle

Your other complimentary transportation option back to the BC would be to hop on the Swan/Dolphin motor coach from the TTC to Swan/Dolphin, and from there, either walk or take the Friendship boat back to the YC/BC. Those buses run about every 20-30 minutes, and are operated by Mears.

There have been reports recently that at least one of the companies has indicated they will charge a $200 one way drop fee for renting at MCO and returning at MCO. This has always been something that they could do, but never have. My guess is with the rental car shortages they want to keep as many of those cars at MCO as possible.

Before posting, I priced out Alamo for random dates, and there was no change in rate between picking up and dropping off at MCO, vs. picking up at MCO and dropping off at the Car Care Center.

Yes, you should be able to book that car rental. Your quoted rate will include any extra drop-off fee for returning at the Car Care Center, but usually the Enterprise group (Alamo/Enterprise/National are all part of the same corporate parent and operate the CCC) does not charge extra, they just quote a higher rental rate if any. Once you drop off the rental car, you can use the free shuttle to the Beach Club or pay for a ride share with Uber or Lyft.

Every WDW resort guest is entitled to use the Magical Express once in each direction between their resort and MCO, on any of the days included in their resort stay, so no problem with using ME to get back to MCO at the end of your Beach Club stay. Resort guests do one-way airport transfers all the time. You can use the online ME booking form or call ME direct at 866-599-0951 to book. You will need your reservation number, date, and time.

By the way, if the car rental rate for a return to the CCC is way higher than returning to MCO instead, you could even drop off your luggage and other guests at the Beach Club, then drive to the airport to drop off the rental car and take Magical Express back to the resort. A big waste of time, but perhaps worthwhile if the difference in rental rates to really high. In pre-Covid times, we sometimes saw car rentals with CCC (or Dolphin Resort) drop offs or pick ups be less expensive than MCO drop offs or pick ups because they needed to get cars to or from the CCC. Always worthwhile to price shop on this.

This all assumes that you are making plans for a trip that ends prior to 1/1/2022, since Magical Express operations end on 12/31/2021.
