Multiple threads on same/similar topics

I just noticed a thread that was closed that was about a topic that was also the topic of another thread, for that reason. I was wondering if we now are supposed to have only one thread active per topic. Maybe a new rule? Not sure. I would have asked on that thread but could not, as it had been closed. I have not been to this forum for a few days, maybe a change I missed.

I was kind of wondering the same thing Dan...and I haven't taken a break from the board at all. I mean every thread could be considered multiple threads on the same topic....so I'm confused on this one.

Hi Dan!

I think you probably know the answer since you are a former moderator, right? We make the best calls we can, we hope they are the right ones, and in the case of a duplicate post (that, frankly, could have been moved to another board since it isn't REALLY about attractions and strategies, and linked to the exact same press release) it isn't a crisis to have all answers on one post. It's a good topic, and one that makes sense, at least to me, to have all replies in one place. It's also a bit 'off topic', but very worthwhile just the same. I made the decison to close one, not becuase I wanted to be heavy-handed, but because I thought it would be much easier to follow (since, again, it links to the same press release; I also provided a link to the currenly running thread). I meant it as a convenience in this case. I'm sorry to hear you are upset by it.

As a former moderator you also know what to do if you are unhappy with the way the boards are being moderated. But it's good to see you posting here. I hope everything is well with you. If you have any more questions about how the board is moderated, please feel free to PM me personally, PM my co-mods or PM a webmaster.
