Multiple rooms - address question

I booked a second room for my father and listed his address on the reservation.

Does anyone know if I can change the address to mine so his documents get sent to my house, or does it have to be his address since he's listed on the reservation? Just trying to make it easier for him and have everything sent to me since I'm managing the reservations.

I'm not sure, but on the off chance you plan to do onboard booking for a future cruise, you may want to leave his address as is. Not sure if policies have changed since summer 2015, but since my parents and I live at the same address, we were only able to book one OBB on that cruise ... even though they had their own stateroom and me my own. The futre cruise people claimed it was because OBBs are tied to address, not guest name. I was a bit annoyed to be sure ... the old (2011) way where each cabin could book up to 2 future cruises made much more sense to me.

Ah ok, that's a good point... didn't realize they did that, thanks for sharing

You may be able to get them to send his documents to you, even if that isn't his "listed" address. Call DCL and ask. After all, for those of us who book with a travel agent, our documents go to them, not to us, even though our address is in the system. So they might be able to do it for you. In a worst case, he might have to call them (or you call them with him standing there) so that he can "authorize" the change.

I have the same address on 2 reservations, and all the documents went to that one. Great way to make sure kids don't see something in the mail. But after reading above, now I will try to change it.

There isn't really anything he needs from the stuff DCL sends, other than possibly the luggage tags but there are more available if he forgets or loses those.

And yes, the onboard booking is based on address of the current passenger(s) and not number of cabins or number of adults. It is 2 cabins on 1 future cruise date per address represented on the cruise. I would think having an official ID with separate addresses should suffice to prove address, regardless of where DCL sent the current cruise paperwork. Though I haven't been in a situation to try that.

Enjoy your cruise!

Here's what you can do if you want all documents to come to one address but then have the correct multiple households for onboard bookings. Give them the one address for everyone that you want to have the documents come to that address. Once you receive your documents, go into the online check-in. Update everyone to their actual address. This way when you get onboard, the record will show everyone's correct "household address" so you can do your OBBs correctly

Great idea, thanks!
