I have reserved 3 rooms with my AP for the discount rates. These 3 are: 1-my family, 2-in-laws, 3-sister-in-laws. Does anyoneknow if I have to pay the balance for all 3 rooms on my credit card, or can each room be paid for separately. This would make it a lot easier to do if we all want to bill things to the room.
Thanks

You can use more than one credit card, or even pay before you go if you wish, as long as there is one guest in each room who has an AP pass for the discount. I personally prefer to pay before I go, that way I don't have to worry about that expense. You can even call a couple of days before you leave and have the balance applied to your credit or debit card. You will find that Disney is pretty flexible, as long as you come with money that if fine with them! Hope you all have a great time!

We have done this several times. What you need to do is figure out who owes what on the balance before you get there. Then when you check in tell them, person A is paying x.xx on their credit card, then person B is paying x.xx on their credit card, then do yours last, and yours will be the card on the account for charging, (if you want to do that).

There can be only one card on all three rooms for charging priveledges. If you want to split up the charges at the end of the trip, then get a printout the day before you check out and figure out who owes what and then have each person pay that the night before you check out.

Oh, and there does NOT have to be an AP holder for each room. There only has to be one AP holder for all three rooms.

Hope this helps.

That was my understanding also.

Not true. Each AP holder is allowed to book 3 rooms. There does not have to be an AP holder in each room to split the charges. We went at Christmas...had 9 rooms in our names....6 of them AP, and DH and I were the only AP holders and we were in one room! Disney specifically says each AP holder may reserve up to 3 rooms.

It's really much easier than all this. When we got there, we had them "split the reservation" (their term) so that the deposit was split among the 3 rooms on that ressie. So each room had one night's deposit. Then, I told the CM who was staying in each room...she put their names on it....and if they wanted charging privileges they had to provide the credit card for it. Every room in our party (9 rooms) had charging privileges on a different credit card. You do NOT have to leave them all on the same card! It would have been a nightmare trying to separate charges for 20 people  .....and Disney has always been happy to separate our rooms for us!

Hope this helps!

Wow, once again, different CMs, different answers!!!

Disney has NEVER been able to split our rooms up to different credit cards. This was at All-Stars.

As far as splitting up the charges, I always bring a laptop with me, and set up an Excel spreadsheet. We go through the bill and note who has what card # and then fill out the spreadsheet, and then go to the front desk and settle up. It takes about 20 minutes the night before we check out. Very easy for us.

I wouldn't think it matters where you are, but we were at AKL.
As for different answers from CM's yes, unfortunately that happens all the time. In this situation, it may happen more often because front desk person can't do it.....it has to be taken to the person "in the back" who splits it up and gives it back to the front desk to check you in. Took very little time....just one extra step...maybe 5 minutes to split 6 of them (the other 3 were already split off). Since the front desk CM can't do it, they may not know about it, in which case I'd simply ask them to ask another CM or their supervisor how to do it.

But since you have your laptop with you, that may be easier for you....but we don't have one to carry with us and I don't like to be the family accountant any more than I have to be (I HAD to for dinners where we used my Disney Dining Experience card...you can't use it on split checks, or so I've been told so far...) so I just let the front desk take care of it for me.

Oh, speaking of room split situations, here is another twist in the puzzle.

On our November 02 trip, there were only 5 of us and two connecting rooms, and this time we DID want the reservation all together and wanted all keys to work both rooms, etc.

But since one of the rooms was a disabled access room, connecting to a standard room, the reservation was split!!!!

We had to register our credit card twice, once for each room, and we had to go back to the front desk a second time, because the wrong cards opened the wrong door!! We couldn't just switch cards, cause the boys had Ultimate Park Hoppers on their cards, and me, hubby, and BIL did not.

Go Figure!
