Anyone know the latest info on having more than 1 ressie running at WDW at a time? I know this is a TABOO subject for some, BUT our scheduled vacations at work are not approved till march 30th and I cannot wait that long to "hope" to get what I want. Presently only holding 1 ressie with a few days padding on it but interested in holding a back up just in case of the bump off. Also need to place the winter ressie on hold for our december trip. I had read that if anything over-lapped they would cancel your ressies, has this happened? Will it happen? We used to do it all the time? If 1 is in my name and the other in sister's name but same address is it still possible to get it cancelled?

Sorry about how wordy I've become, thanks for the info, MKY :D

I've never heard of any rules about only having 1 ressie at WDW. I personally have sometimes held 2 or 3 at one time & it has never been a problem. I do cancel them when plans have become more concrete & I decide exactly what I want.

I also know that some people really disagree with doing this but I also feel that "the early bird gets the worm" & that sometimes you need to be persistent to get what you want if it's not available when you call the first time. :)

With the new computer system for reservations at WDW it is very likely that if you hold more than one reservation for a given time period you may get a phone call asking which you want to keep. Or I have heard of having one cancelled without notice. It depends on who you talk to as to what has happened to people.

I had some first hand experience with this for our Feb trip. I kept changing everything, first I had ASMo booked to save some money. Then AP rates were released and we decided to upgrade to Poly Concierge. Well, when I called to book the Poly Concierge ressies, they already noticed my ASMo ressies, which were in DH's name, not mine, I was making the Poly ressies in my name to hopefully hold both. We wanted to make sure we could afford Poly Concierge. Well, the CM told me that I would have to cancel the ASMo ressies to make the Poly ones. With the new system, they can cross reference EVERYTHING, address, name, phone number. I was told that if I didn't cancel the ASMo ones, I'd probably lose all my ressies. Well, I canceled the ASMo ones, since we really wanted Poly. The CM informed me that most people aren't aware of this new rule and are enforcing it to keep double bookings down. He said, that way they'll have a better look at projected occupancy that way. With double and triple bookings, this is impossible. Of course, all of this is moot, since we decided to take this trip on points and take a DCL cruise in November. Also, a note, don't make ressies in your sisters name, unless she is traveling with you. They require a picture id at check-in, and you wouldn't be able to check-in under your sisters name.

Thanks, yes my sister is my traveling partner but since we live togther we have the same address etc.. but I can use my cell phone # maybe that would through them off the track? Hmmm. Last year we could not get the contempary tower at all it was completely sold out for both of our trips, so we need to book this earlier than the end of march or run the same risk again. We have some very terrible vacation rules where I work!

I am really asking cause of unsure of dates for our vacation, not holding of several different hotels etc... As soon as I get my confirmed dates march 30th we solidify hotel, air & car. Then start the official countdown, till then its a guessing game.

I don't really expect a problem with also holding resort for a winter trip either early december or feb. 2004, as this is an entirely different trip we expect to take.

Thanks for all your help, MKY :D

I held two ressies (very recently) for two weeks until we decided for sure. The CM I talked to told me that I could go ahead and pay the deposit to hold the second resort and then when I decided for sure, to cancel the one I no longer needed. So, I really don't see a problem. It's better to be safe than sorry, especially when you have your heart set on one resort over another. Just my two cents. Good luck.

40 more days until we see the WL for the first time!!!!

Does anyone know if this applys to holding ressies with DC and one without?? We made our ressies using DC rate, with the $100 deposit. We will probably make a second one, using a regular code, in a few months. Will most likely cancel the DC one, but will they make me do that before I try for a code rate? I don't want to lose what little savings I can get.

It shouldn't be a problem. I called last week to book with DC for next Christmas. The DC system was down. I was able to book with CRO at the rack rate. I called DC when the system was working again and booked with them. The CMs never said anything about the reservation I'd booked with CRO. I spoke with 4 CMs before I was able to get the DC rate.
