I am planning our upcoming trip and I have to decide if we are going to the CRT this year. We've never been, but our boys really want to eat in the castle. They could care less about the princesses, but we do have a DD who might enjoy them.

I was thinking of either lunch or dinner and we will be on the dining plan. I could find a menu for the kids at lunch, but not for dinner. What is on the menu for kids at dinner? Our DD will be plate-sharing since she is under 3. Are the portions large enough for her to get full? She is a big eater - we often joke that she can out eat her older brothers. I was hoping she could have a little of everybody's dinner.... or could I order anything al carte/side items?

What will the dining experience be like for the boys? Will they still get swords at dinner or is that just for the princess meals? Will they give my DD a wand even though she is not 3 yet?

If we do get a dinner reservation, what time should we make it for? I didn't know if it is possible to see the fireworks from the windows and if by that hour if it was mostly couples or if young children were still commonplace. If we can watch the fireworks from the restaurant, how do we go about requesting a window table? Is it possible to do that or you just take whatever comes available when you check in?

I was thinking of either lunch or dinner Remember Dinner is not with the Princesses only Fairy God mother and Mice. Either way both are nice and we have enjoyed each

and we will be on the dining plan. I could find a menu for the kids at lunch, but not for dinner. What is on the menu for kids at dinner? Here is the list for Dinner from the DIS scroll down to bottom for Childrens menu http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningdetail.cfm?Restaurant.ID=120#menu

I was hoping she could have a little of everybody's dinner.... or could I order anything al carte/side items? I don't think they have anything Alcarte, but you could ask if after you see the plates you think there is not enough. I believe you will have plenty, we never finished all of our at either Breakfast lunch or dinner.

What will the dining experience be like for the boys? The boys will probably enjoy it, even with the Princesses they make a fuss over the boys and all I have seen have enjoyed it a little bit.

Will they still get swords at dinner or is that just for the princess meals? They will get the swords at lunch and dinner, even my DS age 25 did
Will they give my DD a wand even though she is not 3 yet? Yes my DGD did received a wand at 2 and my DD age 26 received a wand.

If we do get a dinner reservation, what time should we make it for? I would make it an early dinner as you cannot see the fireworks from the castle. There are not enough windows and the fireworks are higher than you are. You will probably see alot of smoke. Like I have said all times have been an enjoyment for us whether we were with the grandchildren or our older children all adult trip. FYI which you probably know the Dining plan is 2 credits for this meal. Lunch and Dinner are not as rushed. princess:

I have no clue about dinner but when we were at CRT in April for Breakfast the "server" actually brought my 2 year old his own kids plate and we were not charged :)

We did dinner last February and really enjoyed it. This year we're doing lunch because my DD5 wants to see more princesses, otherwise I would do dinner again.
Yes, they also have swords along with the wands.

My youngest daughter was 9 months when we last went and they brought her her own bowl of pasta for her to eat. It was so yummy my then 4 year old ate some of it too because she had changed her mind about her fish meal after she got it!
