Multiple passes on MDX - which is used?

I have a smattering of Non-Exp tickets from past trips that I've linked on MDX. I try to keep records of which passes have how many park + fun days left. A couple weeks ago I sent a request to Disney asking how many days one each pass and found that I had a 2 day flip-flop between a couple.

So my question is - does anyone know how Disney decides which pass to pull a day from when scanning in via magic band and you have multiple tickets linked?

Related question - could I guarantee which ticket is used from if I take the physical media (I still have them) and scan that at park entrance instead of my MB?

Thanks

The tickets are in a priority order in Disney's computer system. This does not necessarily mirror the order they're listed on MDE. Guest Relations and park ticket booths can prioritize certain tickets over others if you ask. You can also ask the main entrance cast members to confirm which ticket is being used as you enter through a touchpoint. If usage is taken off a wrong ticket by mistake, it can be corrected by Guest Relations, but it takes a bit of time to verify everything.

The physical media, once linked to MDE, is linked to everything on MDE just like a MagicBand. Using a card or a MB is exactly the same once they're linked.

The media doesn't matter, but the tickets can be prioritized at a guest relations location. Make sure to do this before scanning for entry to a park.

MDE is set up to default to using the oldest ticket first, even if the oldest is non-expiration, and the newer once are not. I have dealt with this twice now. If the correct ticket isn't used, you can always call the ticket relations department & they have added a ticket to my account to fix the issue. guest relations should be able to help first & if you call prior to your trip they will prioritize your tickets for you.

Making sure I understand...

So if I have two physical media passes linked in MDX to my user, if I scan ticket#1 at the gate it could actually take a day from ticket#2 if ticket#2 was prioritized in Disney's system? That could turn messy if I have both Non-Exp and Exp tickets linked. I'd be pretty irritated if they took an Exp day for a single day visit (and burn the rest of the days as unused) if I had a Non-Exp pass linked too.

If so, sounds like I'm going to need to make a visit to GR before hitting a park this weekend.

You got it. It is possible. I believe the default for tickets in MDE is oldest first, but you can have them change that as GR. I think they can prioritize over the phone as well. This is a common procedure that should be relatively quick to perform.

Yes, that's correct. The physical ticket doesn't matter if they are all linked to your account. Try to make it to guest relations prior to attending and use the wording of needing to prioritize your tickets. If you aren't able to make it in ahead of time, I have had this fixed after the fact twice now...once nearly a year later.

And ask for the Ticket Relations department if you call, don't waste your time with IT support or web support. They think they can fix the problem and can't...every...single...time. They will talk to you for 60-90 minutes with no resolution, eventually transfer you to TR, and then they will have it resolved in under 10 mins.
