Multiple mylenoma

Head over to the Coping and Compassion board here - there is a sub-thread on it.

He has been doing well for at least the last ten years. He is an active participant in the local support group.

This is what my mom was diagnosed with in 2000. At the time, she was given 3 years to live. I took her to Cleveland Clinic for a 2nd opinion. It is important to find out what stage you are in. There is no cure, only treatment.

Mom passed away in Dec of 2006.

A meteorologist in CT, known as "Dr. Mel" Goldstein, was diagnosed 13+ years ago and still does some of the weather forcasts on WTNH. He has been very open about his experience and is big into fundraising and research. Though I don't know him personally, I have great respect for the way he has dealt with this challenge. Much information on his efforts can be found on the Internet.

My Dad had it and lived 12 years with it. He got lung cancer which is what brought about his death-not the MM. They treated him with a new type of chemo at the time and he was declared in remission for a long time.
