Greeting friends - We will be signing up as new AP and TIW card holders soon. We already have and use a Disney Visa card. We will be going to the World soon and will be staying on resort so (of course) we'll have Magic Bands.
When dining and/or making a retail purchase, any suggestions on the best way to make sure I get the best discount? Without being quite as familiar with all the ins/outs of the programs, I'd like to get the best discount while not holding up the lines, etc. and helping out the cast members. Suggestions (very!) welcome.
If you haven't checked it out yet, head over to

They have every restaurant listed and when you click on the link for each menu, you will see a chart that has all of the discounts available at that venue.
You are entitled to a 10% discount on most merchandise purchases when you use your Disney Visa (not your MB) at the register and spend $50 or more. The better discount would be by showing your AP discount card. You get 10% off any amount AND you can pay with your MB. Just make sure that you carry your AP and a form of ID, plus mention the discount before the CM rings you up.
Your Disney Visa also entitles you to a free character meet & greet with complimentary 5"x7" photo. This would be in EPCOT, at Innoventions West. You must show your Disney Visa to get in and to get your free photo.
You cannot stack discounts. So, your AP dining & merchandise discounts, your Disney Visa dining & merchandise discounts, and your Disney TiW dining discount cannot be combined. You have to choose which one to use.
The Target discount on Disney GCs is a straight 5% off of the face value of the GC. It is applied at the point of purchase. So, if you were to purchase a $50 GC, your Target REDCard will be charged $47.50 for it. You must use a Target credit or debit card to make the purchase. The Disney GCs can then be used to pay off your room charges that you make using your MBs. Just go to the lobby to pay them off before your checkout day.
