Hi ~

I have a question for a friend. They are traveling to WDW next week and were going to buy 3 day passes with the park hopper. They have since realized that it is cheaper to buy a 5 day pass with no park hopper instead of 3 day with hopper. If they do this can they still go to 2 parks in one day and just have the 2nd park count as a seperate day?

They know that on the first day they going to MK and the send day they want to go to Epcot and MK and the third day AK and Studios.... so could they do that buy purchasing a 5 day pass with no park hopper???

Does that make sense?

Thanks in advance!

I don't know 100%, but I'm pretty sure that doesn't work. If you don't have a park hopper, you will only be allowed to go to one park a day.

The tickets do not work that way. The admissions are "1 per day", so to speak. If you wish to visit multiple parks in a single day, you MUST purchase the hopper option.

Sorry but no.

"Magic Your Way Base Tickets give each member of your travel party entry to one Theme Park a day each day of your ticket."

With a regular ticket they can go to the SAME park each day, and with a Park Hopper they can go to different parks in one day. Even though the 5 day may be cheaper, it's not always the best value if you can't do what you want with it. If they need to Park Hop then they need the Park Hopper option.

We did the Park Hopper on our June trip. We did 2-3 parks a day and it worked great for us. When I mentioned to my husband that we might not get that option on our next trip...I thought that he was going to cry. He loved Park Hopping. It allowed us to do so much more on our vacation. So, really, they need to ask themselves if they want to save money, or save time and do more on their vacation.

A base ticket is one major (theme) park per day. You are allowed to re-enter the same park if you leave it on one day, but it can only be used at the one park.

Note that the ticket will state on it either "Not Valid For Park Hopping" or "One Theme Park Per Day". That should be a hint.

If you put the ticket in the turnstile of another park the display on the Guest side of the turnstile will be "ACCESS DENIED". The top line of the display on the Greeter side will give information about the ticket, and the second line of the display will say "CROSSOVER NOT PERMITTED". The turnstile will not unlock.

This is because Disney charges $3.00 per day over four days on a ticket, but charges $52 to allow hopping. It does not make economic sense for Disney to allow this.

If you actually have multiple tickets (more than one physical ticket per person) as opposed to multiple day tickets, you can use these tickets for multiple entries. But it makes absolutely no economic sense as a separate ticket costs a lot more than adding hopping to a ticket.
