During our 3 week condo stay I have booked a 2 night stay at Hard Rock Hotel. Plan to pack an overnight bag. But I am looking for advice for those who have done similar. Would you let the manager/reception know that you will be away from the resort for 2 nights ?

We are doing the same in August and will let the front desk at SSR know that we will be away. Will also leave a note in the villa for housekeeping.

If there is an emergency (hurricane etc) then the hotel need to know that you are away and have not gone missing.

I would let reception know, if only so it saves housekeeping having to go to the room.

That's a good point that Sue makes about emergencies as well.

I'm going to spend 1 night of my 14 night stay at RPR. I'm not going to tell ASMu that my room will be vacant for one night as I don't want to announce that I'll be leaving my room unattended for over 36 hours as I'll be leaving most of my luggage there.

We left our Orlando hotel to stay at another for 3 nights on our last trip and told the front desk that we would be away, they made a note of this in their records. We will also be letting them know that we will be away next trip when we go for our 3 night cruise.

There was a notice to this effect on the inside of our door at our St Pete Beach hotel, and many years ago when I worked at hotels in my home town we would have got worried if guests went missing for more than 24 hours without informing us.

I cannot answer that question as we stay onsite at Universal but would say you will have a fantastic time at the Hard Rock, it is a lovely hotel so close to Universal and CityWalk. It is quite relaxing just been able to walk to the parks.:goodvibes

We usually just let Reception know that we will be away for a couple of days. In the past some have asked where we are going and others haven't.

Thanks folks this has reassured me to let the reception know.

It will still have been a surprise but a little bit earlier than you planned. However, it is nice to know where you are going so you can get excited about it.

In the main lobby opposite reception there is a huge lounge area which has doors to a balcony, if you go out on to the balcony you can view the pool, but if you go right there are sofas and chairs you can sit outside on. We took our breakfast out there in December and it was a lovely start to the day. We just bought breakfast at the little shop on the ground floor, had a lovely breakfast together then booted the lads up.:)
