My husband and I will be taking my 5 year old son and my 38 year old sister to WDW. I really don't want a room with just 2 beds but rather one with a bedroom which has a living room area with sofa bed so there will be plenty of room for us. Any advice on which hotels offer this? I have tried to research it but can't seem to get anywhere.

I think you are looking for a suite. You can call and ask what resorts offer suites, but you might find that two separate rooms is less expensive.

I considered a suite this past Christmas at the deluxe resorts, two separate rooms (we had connecting rooms) was far cheaper than a suite! I'm pretty sure we even considered downgrading to a Mod Suite and 2 deluxe rooms was still cheaper. The connecting rooms worked out great and it allowed us to have 2 full bathrooms (probably a necessary bonus for us).

Connecting rooms are not guaranteed, but ask the CM to make a request for them if you are interested!

All DVC resorts have one-bedroom villas (king bed in bedroom) and the Fort Wilderness Cabins have a bedroom with a full-size bed and bunk beds and a living room with a full-size murphy bed

I just wanted to say have a great time, have fun and enjoy in your upcoming trip. Looking forward in hearing more from you after you came back.

Have a nice and safe trip coming. :)

Do you seriously get up at 2am and raise your post count? Every single thread was last posted in by you.

The all-star music has family suites available, we were looking into it when we had 6 people going, but when we hit 7 had to find somewhere new...

There is a link to the layout and description at the mousesavers website, this site wouldn't let me enter the link, Sorry. It says they sleep 6. Queen bed, double sleeper sofa, twin fold out chair/bed and the ottoman fold out into another bed.

Good Luck!

You might want to consider connecting rooms, and just choose one of the rooms to hang out in. My husband and I are going with our two boys (ages 5 & 2yo), one of which still needs the occasional nap - and both go to bed early. We found that the rates on connecting rooms were quite a bit cheaper than a suite. DH and I will be in a king room, and our boys will sleep/nap in the connecting room which has double beds (although my 2yo will be in a PackNPlay). We're staying at POR.

just a word of caution from someone who's btdt... there is no GUARANTEE that you will get connecting rooms just because you REQUEST them... it's been our experience that most of the time, yes, but occasionally, no!

if having connecting rooms or a suite is pertinent, then reserve a SUITE (ASMu, CSR, Deluxe Resorts, DVC Resorts)!

When the connecting room will be used by minor children - then yes, you can get a guarantee - per Disney (and AAA). I actually made our original reservation through a disney agent that was helping us with questions regarding our son's special needs. He is the one that recommended connecting to me, over the suite. :thumbsup2

trust me, a guarantee is not really a guarantee... CBR was unable to accomodate us in connecting rooms and we had minor children... because there were two adults, their answer was "split up!" and we did...

medical needs are a class unto themselves, and have a better chance of being accomodated, so your son's special needs will likely make your request seem like a guarantee!
