Multi outlet device allowed?

I was just reviewing the list of prohibited items and saw that extension cords, power strips and surge protectors are forbidden. We both use CPAPs at night and also each have a cell phone, a smart watch, and a tablet that need to be charged each night. I saw on the DCL Blog that a multiport USB charger is allowed, so is a multiport charger with both USB and regular outlets allowed, as long as it's not a surge protector? Or, are there regular outlets on each side of the bed, for our CPAPs, so we can use a USB-only multiport charger for our other devices? TIA!

A multiport charger with normal plugs is not allowed as it is considered a power strip.

A multiport USB-only charger is allowed.

For a CPAP you can request an extension cord from guest services. You can actually request it and a gallon of distilled water in advance from DCL Special Services.

Thanks. I did already request distilled water, didn't see a way to request an extension cord in advance but imagine we can request one onboard if needed.

On the Magic (May), there were bedside plugs In our oceanview. Plus the one(s) at the desk.
Thanks, we have a deluxe verandah cabin, hopefully there will be outlets on both sides of that bed too. Guess we'll be adding to our electronics collection with a multiport USB-only charger for our USB devices to charge at the desk.

Thanks, y'all!

know this is old but have had a A multiport charger with normal plugs the fall of 2023 and again on the late Spring of 2024 and i had no issue and asked specifically when embarking the ship. if this was ok and said yes. it is so confusing (2024)

Ours was taken away last September. It was not a surge protector. When we picked it up after debarking the cruise, there were hundreds back there. You might want to show your specific multiport to them before hand in an email to be sure.

Edit just saw this is old!

this might be new to fall of 2024 as OF end of May 2024 I showed them on the ship and the person working the scanner and their manager both said was ok and has 2 usbc 2 usb normal and a 3 prong and 2 2 prong plugs.

so can I email the ship before as we all know it depends on the person you talk to

We were shocked. It was actually taken out of our checked luggage. This one piece of luggage was late getting to our room. At first we were worried it was lost. It never occurred to us that it had been held back by the plug thing! We had the plug on a princess cruise may 2024 and a dcl cruise August 2023. We wondered if maybe it just slipped through the cracks on previous cruises? No idea. I do suspect some of it depends upon who is doing the scanning. We won’t bring it anymore. It’s not a necessity for us. Just nice to have.
