Multi-home benefit?

What's the benefit of doing an add-on at another resort? I understand the 11-month window, but . . . If you get a 50-point add-on at a different resort, all you're going to get is a couple nights!?! How is that better than just adding on where your master is?

Well you can bank and borrow and you can have 150 oints every 3 years with that 50 point contract. That is the main thing when you want a certain resort is the 11 month advantage.

I'm kindof wondering the same thing...we keep going back and forth between adding more to AKV or buying points at Contemporary when it opens.

We began our VWL holdings with a 50 point add on. It bought us a weekend stay in December, and we've been in love with the resort ever since. Yes, we've added on there, but it would have bought more than just 2 weekday nights in a studio in December. Studios are fine for the 2 of us.

We hold our biggest contract at SSR which we consider to be our "main" home
resort. We see SSR as an all-around resort which we would enjoy during any time/any season. But since we are teachers who are bound by a schedule, we did purchase smaller contracts at BCV and VWL for the 11 mo. booking advantage for two busy times a year (spring break and Christmas). Our plan is to visit these resorts every other year by banking and/or borrowing and going only those two holidays.

I have already used our 11 mo. window for both resorts - spring break '08 and Christmas '08. In '09, we will go to SSR some other time of the year - probably summer. Then back to BCV and VWL in '10.

We just do not like playing the waiting-listing game since it has failed us during busy seasons two times already in our 18 mo. of ownership.

Many people say to own all at one resort, but we are happy with our multiple homes!!
