Mugs & Glasses in Studios

During our stay at OKW last week, there were no coffee mugs or glasses, only paper products. We were told that they have been discontinued in the studios. We thought that this was just happening at OKW, but friends of our were staying at a Boardwalk studio the same week, and housekeeping came to their studio one morning and took away their mugs and glasses. This is no big deal for us. It's just that I haven't seen any mention of this. Maybe I just missed it. They did leave the dishwashing detergent, sponge, and dishtowel behind, though. It had us wondering what they might be used for.
