I have a Mug that we purchased a couple of years ago. I am wondering if we can bring it down and purchase more refills or if we should just buy a new one. I am not sure if they are for the trip or once you buy it your good type of a thing.

Also we are going to Sea World anyone know if they have a mug?

Thanks

Nathan

The mugs are a "length of stay" item. Meaning that you must purchase a new mug each time you visit to stay "legal" with this rule. And that mug is only good for refills during the current stay at the resort.

Actually this is not true with Universal. Disney resorts yes, but not at Universal theme parks. You can bring back a mug you purchased 5 years ago and they will honor it with no questions asked. It is completely legit and there is no reason to purchase a new mug. Once you purchase a mug they are good for discounted refills at either Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure for as long as the mug is still in usable condition.

This is the second time I have done this. Toontoy, I apologize. I have not had enough sleep and was not paying attention to the category. In my world there is only WDW and no other parks on the planet. :) When I get tired I stop focusing. I am sorry. Please disregard my previous statement. :(

Yes to both. Universal cups are good as long as they're in usable condition. Sea World's cups/mugs are also reusable time and time again. :goodvibes

Would this also be true for the Butterbeer mugs? We have one from our last trip and would love to be able to use it again.

Sort of. You'd still get discounts on the soft drinks, but not much of a discount on butterbeer.

Plus the butterbeer mugs are only about 16oz. The standard refillable mug is around 32. Still, 85 cents for pear cider = :cool2:

Thanks for the info,

I will bring it along, we have lots of disney mugs and I know their rule and glad to hear its different at Universal.

Oooh, for 85 cents, we'll have to try the pear cider. I don't really look forward to carrying a butter bear mug around all day, every day, but I guess I can hook it on my fanny pack again -- worked okay last time. Cheap refills sounds good to me. Anyone know how much an ice tea is in the butter beer mug?

Thanks! We didn't buy the regular refillable one, so the Butterbeer mug will do fine for soft-drinks. We don't drink a ton anyway.

And where is pear cider sold? All over the parks or just in one area? Didn't realize they had it. Sound yummy!

Yes, Sea World also has a refillable mug. We were able to bring our Busch Gardens cups and use it at Sea World but not sure if this still holds true.

I believe the pear cider is only sold in the WWoHP...at least I've never noticed it anywhere else in the park.

Seaworld will refill UnNiversal mugs but Universal will not refill Seaworld mugs. We were told this in May when we were getting drinks at seaworld..

i have a mug with a handle, top and straw since the 1990's.
i take it with me each year and only pay for the refills.

if you have a mug you bought at universal, it can be used each time you do the parks.

i used my bb mug for refills at the discounted price last year for butterbeer.

85 cents. :cool2: That includes the different iced teas at WWOHP.

The Three Broomsticks, WWOHP. If you like pears, you'll love the cider!

Is it an alcoholic cider?
No, but Strongbow is. I think they sell that at the Hog's Head in WWOHP. I know they sell Strongbow at Finnegan's in USF.
