Muddy Buddy Training!

I've come to realize that a cheer leader is just as important to the race as the actual participants. Here's to you DIS Muddy Buddy cheer section!! :thumbsup2

Aaaah, he changed the picture!!! Just look back a page though, I caught it in my quote...

I can't blame Paul for posting that pic. :)

I am running and biking tomorrow rain or shine. :thumbsup2

OK, I had my doctor's appointment today at 11:00a. I've torn something in my lower back that is giving me back spasms (just like Don was telling me on FB). He prescribed pain killers and muscle relaxants, and we talked for a long time about my half marathon on Sunday. He said I wouldn't do any permanent damage if I ran the half marathon, but it would set back my recovery from the injury. So I'm really trying to decide what to do right now. I'm leaning towards not running on Sunday, and trying to be fully recovered for Florida and the Muddy Buddy. However, Pittsburgh was the race I've been shooting for - for a long time. This is my hometown race, and the first time they're having the marathon in 5 years. My mother in law lives 1 block off the course. We're going back to Pittsburgh regardless this weekend, and it will really stink to see everyone else running. Uuugh...

That's a tough one Dave. We would love to have you at the muddy buddy. I hope you feel better soon. Take care and let us know what you decide. :goodvibes

Dave....Your health is top priority. No matter what you decide to do I'm behind you 100 percent. so, you do what you feel you are able to do.

If for some reason you can't do the Muddy Buddy I'm still going to see if I can race solo. I can't imagine it would be a big deal at all. Please make sure you take care of yourself.

Thanks everyone: I appreciate the support. I'm definitely doing the Muddy Buddy. My only question is whether I should run Pittsburgh or not on Sunday.

Dave, take care of yourself. And besides, you aren't going by MY house, so that should tell you where your priorities should lie. :lmao::lmao::rotfl::rotfl:

It's been 3 days since my last work out of any kind! It's amazing how fast life gets in the way of your goals. I'm headed to the gym now to get back on track. :thumbsup2 Dave, continue to rest that back. One week from today guys! It's on!!! :cool1:

I'm ready Paul. I certainly don't plan on taking the course by storm, but I'm sure we will all be packing our smiles and positive attitudes as we wait the start of the race. Definately good times ahead!

I hear ya! I feel terrible...two days no workout. Maybe I'll sneak out of the hotel and get in a run tonight. Darn beer last night feels like a bomb went off in my gut.

Puck, it was good to meet you last night.

I just had to say that Team Beast will be wallowing in the mud pit. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::laughing:

I'll be ready for you! (Bringing extra zip ties to handcuff Team Todd/Chris and leave them in the mud)
