Much to my dismay

My much anticipated vow renewal for December 2008 is not going to happen. There is too much going on that month and it will be nearly impossible for anyone that we invite to attend. I have decided that I will try to plan for April 2009. I was really looking forward to being in WDW during the holiday season. Now I have a few more dilemas.

I originally wanted to have it at Sunset Pointe but when I was planning for December I thought that it might be better to be indoors, plus our guest count is over the limit of 10. I reaally regret not being able to use Sunset Pointe because I have loved it ever since this Disney vow renewal idea started in my head, it was my first choice since it is the only one that is sort of a beach location and you can still see Cinderella's castle. I am at a loss as of where to have the ceremony now, I really want Sunset Pointe but the only way I can have what I want is to ask my bil and sil to take their kids to childcare, which I feel bad to do that but at the same time I don't feel like I should have to change what I want to accomodate them either, I don't know what to do. I have checked out SBP and YCG but they just don't do it for me. Does anyone know if you can book a beach wedding on the GF beach for an escape wedding. What would you guys do??

Thanks in advance,

Kim

I am sorry your planned date doesn't look like it will work. I am sure you are disappointed- I know I would be. Anyway I hope you can get things worked out for your alternate date. wishing you the best with all your plans.:)

I don't know a lot about the child care at disney because my daughter was older when we started going to disney. However, I think they have like some sort of kids club thing, where the kids are in a fun daycare type setting where they do crafts and fun things. What about if you get that for them, in a way of.. "We want you to have a fun time not having to worry about the kids, a fun adult time."??? Would that work?

I was married at Sunset Point last month and know what you mean. After I saw it, I didn't want to get married anywhere else.

Another option, is asking if you could have it at the Wedding Pavillion Beach. Granted its the same cost at a regular WP ceremony but it would still be closer to what you would enjoy!

Thanks for the replies, I guess this is not a complete and total loss. Being from the gulf coast, the beach is a very big part of my life and being able to tie that in with dh and I's love of all things disney just makes it the perfect combo. I would do the GF beach but when I asked the wedding consultant over the phone she said she didn't know that much about it but that it would probably cost more than the WP. If anyone has any more info about GF beach ceremonies, I would be forever grateful.

Thanks,

Kim

The Neverland Club is right at the Poly, too, so the kids wouldn't be far. Check on the Families boards but I remember reading that kids had a blast there. So much more than than sitting still and being quiet all through a wedding ceremony.

The kids clubs at the resorts don't open until 4-4:30pm. We've used the Sandcastle Club at BC. My 6 yr old loved it, but he loves "dumping the parents" on vacation. My older one refers to them as "kiddie jail".

Unfortunately, the kids clubs at the resorts do not open until 4:30PM as Starr said. You also have the option of having in-room child care services. If you would like me to send you the information Disney sent me, send me a PM and I will email it to you.

I know there is someone that has a PJ and were talking about getting married on the beach outside the WP. I just can't remember their name right now. :confused3

you can have a ceremony on the beach next to the WP. I'm looking into that myself and there are a few other brides on here that are doing it

ohohohoh..it's scottish/canadian who is having a WP beach ceremony for sure so you can ask her questions.

Found out some things today. First, GF beach is only an option if you are planning a wishes wedding which we are not, so that's out.

Second, a child care center is not an option because a) my youngest nephew will only be 3 at the time b) they will not be open for a 2:30 ceremony.

I guess the only other option I have is to use one of the in-room babysitting services unless I am willing to look into SBP or YCG which is probably not going to happen. I guess the thing about it that is bothering me is that my two kids would be attending just not their cousins. We are a very close family and I don't want anyone to feel hurt or left out. But me, dh, dd,ds= 4 my mom, dh's mom=2 my sis, dh's sis=2, dh's bro+sil=2 =10 total.

I am just not sure yet.

Thanks for the suggestions.

What's a children's party ??

Thanks

We went to a wedding at the Breakers in Palm Beach and since most people were coming from out of town and probably bring kids, they had a children's party for all kids under 16. They had it in a ballroom, provided dinner and activities for the kids, during the ceremony and reception. There were about 40 kids ranging in ages from 6-16.

I know with a Wishes wedding you can do something like this but I don't know about an escape ceremony.

I think that your family will understand about the situation with the kids..I mean you have to have your own children at your wedding :)

Sorry to hear you had to change your plans :(, been there and done that, but just think of it as it wasn't meant to be and now this time will be better :)

Good Luck with everything.
