After not being to WDW in seven years and reading a lot of negativity on these boards concerning crowds, rude people, restaurants going downhill, cleanliness standards lacking, etc, we were quite scared. However Disney has not lost its magic for us! Being our first Christmas here, crowds were manageable and I found everyone (except one guy) to be friendly and polite.
Restaurants were great - we did a lot of character meals and we found Ohana, Hollywood & Vine, Chef Mickey, Askerhush and TRex to be loads of fun and the food was delicious. The only restaurant that no one in our group liked was Tusker House.
We stayed at AKL and never waited longer than five minutes for a bus. Everything was clean and we enjoyed coffee with the giraffes every morning.
This was our first visit with fast pass and magic bands, and we loved the convenience of both. Cast members at the parks were helpful and loads of fun.
I realize people will post quicker about negative issues than positive ones,but I was worried about our trip after reading posts the past few months. However, I was pleasantly surprised how almost perfect everything was and I know now we will be back again as soon as we can, God willing! Thanks for all the advice and tips over the past year.
