I really enjoyed reading these while planning my trip and wanted to give an update on our experience. This is our first time using the DAS with my daughter who has hypo sensory processing disorder. She goes into shut down mode without enough input and is very hard to control. Our first day there we went and got the DAS. I was very nervous about asking for it after reading things on here as I am still sensitive to her diagnosis and was nervous about explaining it and being told she didn't need it which I knew we definitely did. We went to guest services in magic kingdom and I told someone we were there to get a DAS so we didn't have to bring her into the lines. They didn't ask any questions and just pulled us aside did the pic and that was it. Very quick and easy. We used the pass a total of 8 times over a 6 day period and 2 or 3 of those times were for waits that were only 20 min waits. We found that the fast pass line was about the extent of her ability. Even that was challenging for her. She would lay on the concrete and roll around or start flopping her whole body. There is just no way we would have been able to do anything outside of fast pass with her. We also could not do rope drop because we needed to take it slow in the morning with her so aside from our 3 fast passes a day and one extra ride through DAS that is all we did. And we used fast passes for meeting characters. All in all the combination of the fast pass with the DAS made a world of difference. We had a very wonderful time and next to no meltdowns one day she did go into meltdown mode and it was quite rough. It was an hour meltdown and 3 hours of mania in the hotel and a potential seizure which we are seeking neuro consult about. All in all though it was super successful. We are very happy with the accommodation and have no complaints. Everyone was simply wonderful. I also liked how they didn't expire. That would have made it really hard to use. Some rides took us almost 2 hours after the return time to get back to. The flexibility was a life saver.

I'm so glad you had a good trip and thanks for the report of using FP+ along with DAS. You don't mention when your trip was, but within the past few weeks people can now get more than the original schedule 3 FPs each day once those are used. I hope that makes it even more easier for families.

Good luck with the neuro consult and thank you for sharing!

That rule took effect the Monday we were there we left May 2nd. I definitely feel it was nice with the FP for the single reason they do not expire. It was very hard for us to get to our fast pass times in fact we lost probably 30% of them and had to swap them out. It was really hard getting around with her because she would not sit in a stroller and she runs off. We attempted the harness and I realized immediately it's not for kids like her because she has little pain and no safety awareness. She ended up getting injured and ran right into an iron table and collapsed to the ground. So that did not work. I carried her a lot but sometimes we just had to let her walk and continue to chase her but this so something we have grown accustomed to so it was manageable. I really like the set up and feel it's more fair to other guests now than the way it was before. And honestly I would have been very reluctant to get it before it changed but I liked know we were waiting for the ride and not cutting in front of others.

Thanks for your update. Glad to hear things worked out for you.

We are here now and we LOVE the DAS card! It's perfect for our youngest who has autism. She doesn't mind physically waiting -- "we can go on the ride in 15 minutes" -- but is upset by people crowding around her and she doesn't like waiting in dark places either.

Love just heading down the FP lane when it's our turn!

We had our FP rides selected in advance and use the DAS probably twice a day on average. SO much easier than old system!

Love it! :)
