If we do Toowntown during MTTMM, how long should we plan on staying, ballpark? 1 hour, 3 hours, etc.... Kids are age 19mo, 3 and 5.

Trying to figure out if we have enough time to do TT, then hop over to CA in time to hit a few rides before it gets busy....

Thanks,
Carm

MTTMM lasts for an hour.

You want to hope over to DCA before it gets busy...where? DCA? As much as I adore DCA, and as much as I adore bug's land, I'm not really all that sure that's something you need to really be concerned about. :)

Many people are just like I was for 2 years, thinking that it was a stupid park that I had no interest in entering! (2 years wasted, what was I thinking? :scared: )

Thanks Molly! I guess DCA just isn't the same as DL, and I need to get that through my head! Maybe it's because my kids are such huge Pixar fans that I can't imagine why Bugs land and Monsters Inc wouldn't be mobbed just like the rides in FL. But I guess when there isn't much ELSE in the park for the kids, it isn't really a big priority.

Perhaps I am just trying to make this harder than it is....:lmao:

So - getting back to the original question (I can threadjack - it's my thread!!!), does the hour in TT pretty much get everything done, or should we assume an hour or so after MTTMM to check out all the houses and stuff? It sounds like one of those places the kids could sort of spend all day in, or at least till they get bored, and I don't want to be dragging them out by their hair after an hour b/c they haven't seen everything....

We get there right when they open the gates and ride Roger Rabbit and play with some of the fun things like the jail and post office before the Town Hall thing starts (9:15) that only leaves GoGo coaster, Chip and Dales Treehouse and the bounce house for the little one to do before or after Mickey's House an Minnie's house. You could get it done in a little more than an hour

I would think you could get all the attractions done in TT in an hour, but if you want pictures with the characters, it could take longer.

Sometimes I have experienced only a 5-minute wait to meet Mickey in his house, and one afternoon last week it looked like at least an hour wait. But I've never done MM, so I don't know what the character lines are like at that time.

Oh - skip Goofy's Playhouse until later in the day. My 2.5yo FREAKS when I try to take him away from there!

The bounce house has been replaced with a playground thingy. I don't know if this is a good thing or not. ;)

What's the town hall thing that starts at 9:15?

Someone may want to correct me, but I think it is a ceremony type thing they do for MTTMM ticket holders - Mickey is the mayor of toontown, and he makes everyone official Toontown citizens, or something, and picks a "family of the day" - that kind of thing. Sounds a bit hokey for the adults, but I am sure the kids LOVE it!

Tix for MTTMM come with your travel company - for us, it was AAA, but I believe Getaway Today and Disneyland.com offer them - not sure who else.

We did not go for MTTMM- no tickets, but we did go to Toon Town. I have to say that Toon Town was the biggest disappointment for me. On our first day, we went through Mickey and Minnies houses and met lots of characters. This was great and a fun way to start our trip. Later I took DD back to ride rides and play. I had high hopes for the play areas and was completely disappointed. There is nothing to play on at the play areas. There was one slide (a short slide at that). Then there was a Jack-O-Lantern for the kids to go in and climb on. I guess I was expecting more of a place where kids could blow off a little steam. Everything in Toon Town was very cute and there were a lot of things that made noise, but IMO no place for kids to just let loose and play.
Roger Rabbit was the only ride that DD(3) did NOT like at DL.

I know others have said that they love Toon Town. Maybe I just went in expecting the wrong thing. I did read my Unofficial Guide beforehand, so I thought I knew what Toon Town was, but I was wrong.

I agree with Bumbershoot that DCA is a great place for kids. We rode the rides in Bugs Land and the Monster Inc. ride over and over. The kids also loved the carousel. I was actually able to ride California Screamin' while DH took the kids on the carousel. We never encountered any lines at all.

The kids also loved the Aladdin show. I was worried that DS(19 months) might be a little too young to sit still for that long, but he loved it. DD(3) also liked the Drawn to Magic show.

Have a great time!!
