Cast of characters: me--31; dh--34; dd--6; and ds--4
Date of Trip: June 2nd thru June 9th
Hotel: Sheraton's Vistana Villages
June 2nd (continued)
Okay at 4:00pm exactly, we received our key cards for our room. We had building 6, room 103. Driving around to the building, I told my dh that I was glad that we didn't end up in building 10. We were a little uneasy about getting a first floor room--but we quickly got over that.
The unit was gorgeous. Any bad feelings that I had about this place quickly subsided when we opened up the door and a blast of cold air hit our weary bodies. We surveyed the rooms, unloaded the van and put away the groceries. The kids' clothes were in Ziploc bags (another tip from these boards) so getting them dressed was a snap. We had 5:15 pm ps ressies at Chef Mickey's. Having two bathrooms is a real plus when you're trying to get somewhere on time.
We were all cleaned up and dressed and in the van at 5:00 pm. We got to the Contemporary at 5:15 pm exactly. We checked in and took our picture. Less than ten minutes later, our pager went off and we were seated. We were finally here!!
The food was okay. Dh loved the potatoes and the Mickey mac and cheese the best. The kids loved the interaction with the characters. When Mickey got to our table, I asked a lady next to us to take a picture of all of us. (I later found out that she cut off everyone's head
)
I really liked the napkin spinning and the song. When the hostess came back with the pictures, we bought the package and paid our bill. The kids took a few more pictures with the characters and we left and headed back to VV.
The kids went right to sleep and dh and I stayed up talking before turning in. Two things about the resort: 1) That darn fountain runs 24/7. It is quite noisy. 2) The mattress and the pillows are too soft. Other than that, we love it.
Tomorrow, we hit Downtown Disney.
