After searching the boards I couldn't find much about this. I have read many posts about other food allergies and how accomodating the chefs are, but has anyone with an MSG allergy survived eating at WDW? I would love to try some more exotic cuisine, but I'd hate to be out of commission for a few days. My specific concern is the whole, no msg ADDED clause. Many restaurants say they do not add MSG, but they do cook with products that contain it. Any experience folks?

I can not have MSG..causes serious migraines...I have never had a problem at all with WDW food..and we eat a lot and evrywhere..lol.

I'm with you guys. Can't have any MSG without serious migraines. I take Maxalt and it has saved my life. That said, I skipped the soy sauce in Japan with my sushi and wouldn't risk the Chinese food either at WS. I can usually taste the MSG if it's on french fries or something like that, and I usually skip a food completely if it's questionable. I've eaten a lot of places at WDW over our two trips and haven't had a problem, but I always bring a double prescription just in case. You're usually safe with Italian food and seafood, burgers are probably ok. I would just beware of snack foods and anything highly seasoned. Good luck!

I"m not allergic to it, but I am sensitive to it (gives me headaches), and have never had a problem at WDW, even when I've eaten in Japan.

my girlfriend is VERY allergic to MSG (swells up, etc), so i was wondering this too.

Giving this thread a bump cause I am curious too...
Anyone with MSG issues eat at WDW lately? Did you have any troubles?

I have MSG allergy - lowers my BP and gives me horrible stomach cramps etc... I told the chef when we got to each rest and they were very kind to tell me what to avoid!

I don't know that I'm allergic, but certainly sensitive. I get bad GI issues & migraines from it. I have never had that reaction in WDW. If they use it at all, it hasn't been in the places I've dined. The only place that had foods with that MSG taste was Chef Mickey's which I found pretty much inedible anyways.
