MSEP Returns 1/20/17

The Parks Blog just announced that the MSEP will return to Disneyland on January 20, 2017. There will also be a special (hard ticket) event on the night of January 19, 2017 (more details will be released tomorrow, when tickets go on sale to AP holders).

Yay! I was just wondering about this. Today is my 60 mark for the next trip, and I was looking for Aladdin on the Go and it showed none available. Hopefully they will open it up soon for this parade.

Excellent! Having last seen it in 1996 with my family, very excited (especially for my mom and dad) to see it again in 2017. I hope they'll do a dining package like PtN.

I was really hoping it would run longer, maybe a full year. I have plans to go next November, but doubt I'll be able to afford another trip before then.

I was so excited to see MSEP in August when I visited Disneyworld and right when I got home I found out it's coming back to California, go figure haha

Wish I could see it, alas it's not in my cards right now either. So, tickets for a one night event that will be available to pass holders and the general public a week later? Those puppies are gonna be expensive! Any guesses? Is $90+ too ridiculous? I feel at $75 they'd sell out before they even became available to the general public.

I was honestly thinking a reasonable option would be around the cost of the Halloween Party tickets. That being said, I wouldn't put it past them to charge $150+ for the special event. Enough people would pay it I think.

Soooo we are down there the weekend after it is supposed to close (says it lasts til the 18th and we are there the 24th of June) ... Does that mean we won't have a parade to watch? We are only going for that weekend, no week days. Any thoughts? Never fails.

ah yay! Last night, my brother was just telling me to go when we take our trip in February (he hasn't been to DL for many years lol and didn't realize it was gone)

I assume that a refurbed Paint the Night (or something else?) will take over after MSEP ends on June 18? We'll be at DL shortly after that. I love MSEP and it brings back great memories, but since I have seen it at WDW, I'm also okay with it being gone by the time we get there, as long as it is replaced right away. They wouldn't go without a night parade in summer, would they?

I'm obviously not a DL expert. I just assumed based on WDW alternating between MSEP and SpectroMagic. It's not the end of the world for me if there isn't one this summer -- my kids and I have seen night parades at WDW a few times. But I'm glad that DL guests will have a chance to see MSEP back home for awhile.

Honestly, we're all scarred after losing MSEP to WDW for 2 decades so whether or not something replaces MSEP in June is A VERY BIG DEAL to us We're undoubtedly too passionate on the subject! On the bright side you will DEFINITELY know if something is on the horizons for after MSEP ends by keeping an eye on the DL Board...

I'm not one who gets all specific about this one being at DL, because I liked it just fine when it was over at DCA.

I'm pretty sure PtN is coming back in the summer and seasonally once MSEP leaves for those who asked. I don't have confirmation, but I've heard from a few trustworthy people that we should expect it to return for peak season.

I am so excited to see this! We will be heading down there on January 22nd and I was hoping it would start in time for our trip. Yay!

I'm pretty excited about this. This will be my third trip and third MSEP. I think it was having a special run in DCA during our 2010 trip. I can't remember and unfortunately we lost our pictures due to our laptop breaking.
