MSEP and Wishes in January - Every Night in 2016?

Our family is booked for a trip 11/15-22/16 with free dining, but I'm getting really nervous about the crowds since we'll be there the first part of the week of Thanksgiving. I'm considering moving the trip to January 2017 and paying OOP for dining, since I think the crowd levels may be lower. My question is this: Are MSEP and Wishes normally held each night in January? I looked at a calendar for January 2016 and it looks like that was the case this year. I thought MSEP and Wishes were at best every other night during this period. Does anyone know anything about this? Also, does anyone have any insight into the crowd levels for January? I am reading conflicting information on low vs. high crowds. If MSEP and Wishes were offered every night in January 2016, that makes me think MK was crowded.

MSEP and Wishes have historically been done every night the park does not close early for a special ticketed event.

I think it would be pretty big news here on the boards if that changed.

They're always held every night if things go well with the weather(I think back in 2008 wishes got cancelled once because of the weather or something??? I can't quite remember, I just remember I didn't watch wishes for some absurd reason.) and the park doesn't close because of an emergency(I don't think this has ever happened though) or a ticketed event such as Mickey's Not So Scary and The Other Mickey One For Christmas. And if you're doing thanksgiving....and if you're doing magic kingdom on thanksgiving, the day before or after it...RUN. I tried going on Thanksgiving once and I was trampled...so much crowds!!

MSEP and Wishes are done nightly year round unless it's a party night. Doesn't matter on the crowd level

I must be losing it. I swear MSEP wasn't every night and that's why some crowd calendars said to avoid MK when it's offered since the crowds will be higher due to the nighttime entertainment.

When we first started coming to WDW in the mid-90s, nighttime parade/fireworks weren't every night. But I don't remember when that changed.

It's been nightly since we started going regularly in 2008. Disneyland does not always have nightly fireworks though. They have lately (although it cancels a lot because of wind) but that's because of the 60th anniversary and to compensate for Fantasmic being dark.

The "avoid MK when it's offered" is what you hear about hard ticket party season. You are advised to go on days where there's a party because there's no Wishes and MSEP and people tend to choose those nights.
