MS would not let me book DP by email

I emailed MS yesterday, based on reading on here that they would add the DP by email. I have been swamped with the kids, and so I thought it would be easier, especially since it's in writing, so no chance for mix ups or errors.

Just want people to know (perhaps I misunderstood), that you cannot book any DP by email.

I have to call tomorrow - wish I would have done that in the first place, but I've been very busy with the kids and getting ready for trip.

I am a tad nervous about something going wrong with the room - we booked AKV Value 1 bed right at 11 months out, so hopefully no issues.

Just wanted to let others know that this is not possibe - perhaps it's because payment is required in full at time of booking, or I misunderstood something that I read here on the boards?

You have to pay when adding it so I wouldn't expect them to add it by email.
 
I agree with the pp, I don't think it's safe to put your credit card info in an email. You have to pay for the dp as soon as it's booked or the transaction is not completed. Are you confusing the two things with adding the ddp and segmenting your reservation? I've read that people have managed to get their reservation segmented and then calling and adding the ddp. When I've done it, I just call and do it at one time, much easier.
 
I had read on here that you could segment your reservation via email but when I tried to do it in may I received an email back to call member services to do it...I called and segmented our reservation and I'll call when it gets closer to our vacation dates and add the dining plan

I would never send credit card info by email, so that wouldn't be an issue.

I think I may have confused the segmenting part of it with actually adding the DP. I did assume that it wouldn't be allowed because full payment is due now, but I thought I would give it a try, as I may have misunderstood something that I read on here.

At any rate, I'll give a call today or tomorrow, as we won't be arriving until next week, so I still have time.

Remember the DDP can only be added up to 48 hours prior to your arrival date. :)

Added it this morning, and everything went fine. Took a long time in waiting, but MS was great!

I have been sick all day with a serious sinus cold that came from nowhere, and DH has been battling something all week. We leave in less than a week, and Disney is not that exciting at the moment, as we feel horrible. But, at least this is one thing I don't have to worry about!

I'll report back about how smoothly the process went! Tiger :)
