Hi Everyone,

One of the best ways to get healthy is to walk, so my goal for this year is to participate in many different walks which benefit society. I'm entered into the MS Walk on April 18th in Liberty State Park (Jersey City) - one of the prettiest places to walk - the view of lower Manhattan is stunning! Other upcoming walks include Parkinsons, Aids, and the Avon Breast Cancer walk. There are many others, too!

I have 3 friends with MS - those odds are too high. This is a way to support worthy causes and get off my duff! All of this will help in preparation for the 1/2 Marathon in January.

All the best to everyone,

This is a great idea. I'll miss a charity walk here in Phoenix while I'm at WDW and we don't have any over the summer. Guess I can use that as an excuse to travel somewhere cooler....yeah, a fitness goal....must go NORTH!

I plan a three hour walk while at WDW...no distance or pacing goals, just keep moving for three hours (only potty breaks allowed). Chose Epcot/MGM/Boardwalk area, figured we can cover the most ground without having to go out on the street!

Anyone else.......

Great idea Bailey! We are doing the DogsWalk for Cancer but I doubt it will be very strenuous with our dog stopping every few feet to sniff something. I did see the add for the Parkinson's walk in Central Park at the end of April. My dad's best friend has Parkinson's so I thought we might go. Just a great excuse to work in the exercise!

We are doing the March of Dimes walk here in late April

Excellent! What a great idea. I'm really proud of you for volunteering to help worthy causes and get healthier at the same time.

Good walk for a great cause::yes:: ::yes::...try the Great Strides walk for Cystic Fibrosis. You can find information on walk locations across america at www.cff.org/great_strides or type in a search for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation great strides event.

Like I said it's a great cause ::yes:: and this is the time of the year the walkes are under way. We will be having our 2nd annual great strides event in our town in two weeks then we will be heading over to Seattle on May 23rd to participate in their event. :)

Thank you all for any charity walking you do! It helps so much for research, etc.!

I'll be doing a 6-miler in June for our Cancer Center in this area. But I'd love to be in shape enough to do the Avon three-day walk!

If anyone is going to be in Orlando on June 12 there is going to be a 5k at Epcot for the Kidney foundation. It is to raise money for organ and tissue donation awareness. This will be my first 5k. I figured what better way to reward myself for losing weight then doing a run. I also lost a nephew a few years ago to Crohn's disease and he had 2 liver transplants that prolonged his young life, so this race is also personal.
