MS soft opening - How will it work?

Do you just get in line for it, or are you picked to ride? If Disney says that's the date, will they stick to it? What are the chances we'll actually be able to ride? I'll be down there then, but that was going to be a non-park day for us. What do you guys think it will be like???

Since they've announced official opening as August 15th, I'd guess that they'll have the ride up and running - just get in line or grab a fastpass.

Usually there are soft openings prior to the official opening date. Generally you just wander over and "discover" the ride is available and get in line.

We're at WDW until July 12th and I'm crossing my fingers for a chance to ride.....may have to wait until next June's trip or <gasp> plan a short trip in late fall/early winter!

I think your chances of getting a ride on M:S are lots better than mine - have fun!!
