MS says it is closed right now????

Maybe this is their new busy signal?

The system can only handle something like 250 calls and when it exceeded that in the past I believe you just got a busy signal.

They have been messing with the Wish DVC cruise all day. and now I got the same message. Very poor management there lately. But, I'm glad I have an alert on my dashboard I can't clear that says they are doing their best. :rolleyes1

Thing is, if you push the "I want to buy DVC" option, you get someone pretty quickly. How about moving those people to where you need them the most and your CURRENT customers?

The Chat function is turned off also :confused3

They announced awhile ago that today would be for Wish bookings only. They came in early, booked 2500 members on the cruise and closed not doing any other business just as they had announced.

Ugh, so annoying! Had to cancel our upcoming trip in 2 weeks and wanted to rebook for September, the points show up in the dashboard, but when I want to book the new dates, it tells me I don't have any points available!

That is because your points are now in holding and can not be used to book trips more than 60 days from check in.

So, they won’t show up as an option unless your dates are within that range. It’s too early to use them for September.

Thanks. Something on the website or a different message on the answering machine would have been nice. But maybe that is too much to ask from such a small business operation?

Thanks, I didn't realize that. I was keeping the reservation as long as possible, since I was still hoping the US would allow us to enter the country for our trip, but with only 2 weeks left, I just had to cancel now. Just hope there will anything be left to book by the 60 days mark :-(

Holding went back into play May 1st. Seeing that you are international, though, you may get them to make an exception for you.

I would give them a call tomorrow!

I absolutely will! Lost a ton of points already last year since we originally booked for an Oct. 2020 stay and actually had banked and borrowed points from 2019 and 2021 to make it happen and then had to cancel it because of COVID-19 and the travel ban. At least I could rent most points, but still sad that we couldn't use them ourselves. So when we decided to move the trip to summer 2021, we thought all this would be over by now (well, it's obviously not, but somehow we still need to plan our vacations, don't we?), I really had to shuffle with the points, dates and even buy some extra points to make it happen this time, only to have to cancel again. So frustrating. I'll just have to see if they can help me in any way. Really hope so. Thanks again for the information!

When I called Saturday evening (only a 24 minute wait) there was a recorded message that said they would be open 8a-4p eastern time on Monday for the cruise bookings only.

I thought I recalled in the past when booking for Member Cruises they would start taking calls for non-cruise needs after the cruise had booked up. Considering hold times are so long, and that they are working hard to alleviate them, it seems like a poor decision to just close up after booking a charter cruise.

They should handle all requests related to perks not oper to every member (cruise, ticket offers, AP when available, Moonlight Magic hicups) with a different phone number and different CM. They are perks not open to everyone and the membership should not pay for people handling them and wait times for standard support shouldn't be affected.

Good luck. I hope you are able to find something, and they will work with you given the travel ban problems.

They were actually amazing! I started explaining that I just had cancelled my upcoming trip in 2 weeks since we still aren't allowed to enter the US and was about to ask if there is any chance they could make an exception for me, so I could at least rebook the trip for September right away. But she didn't even let me go there and said right away "Just let me get my supervisor to move all your points back into their original use years." They even refunded the OTU points I had bought since I could only borrow 50% of the 2022 points.

Apparently, this is what they are told to offer if they have Canadian, UK or Schengen DVC members (or probably from any other country that cannot enter the US at this time) calling about their current reservations.

This now allows me to just rent out the 2020 points I had banked into 2021, which still expire in Jan. 2022, and I will be able to replan the trip for early fall 2022, which would not have been possible if the borrowed points had stayed in 2021 as is normally the case. I'm so happy and thankful right now. And of course a little sad that I have to wait another year to go back to WDW.

But it is a nice reminder that even with Disney it is not always just about the money but also doing the right thing. I just never expected they would do that.

I am so glad. That is/was the right thing to do, and I am glad it had a happy resolution.

So, they could reassign them to a different division and hire new sales people.

It doesn’t work that way. MY DD worked for Disney 6 years and changing divisions is no different than when hired.
