MS problem re ADR Credit Card guarantee

Has anyone else had or not had this problem? I tried to make an ADR for DS and his new wife at CG. Need a credit card guarantee. No problem, I thought-give them mine. However, MS informed me that the credit card used to hold the ADR must be in the name of the person dining. Since I won't be at their meal, they wouldn't accept the ADR (Hey, my new wife won't mind of Mom comes along-how romantic!). I told them that this whole trip is a surprise wedding gift, and why can't they take the Member's credit card? They gave me the CG phone # (actually, they gave me the wrong #, but I eventually got there) and the lady there was really nice, she even took note of the fact that they'll be on their honeymoon. I wonder if this is the same policy if I'd called the "official" Disney DIning line. If so, it seems kind of too bad for anyone trying to plan a surprise trip for a member of the family.

Thanks. That's the same thing someone on another board explained to me. Now it makes sense, so at least I'm not angry any more. If anything, I'm angry at the people over the years who've circumvented the system. It means that honest people have to suffer-but, unfortunately, that's the way it seems to be in a lot of cases. The bad acts of a few spoil it for everyone.

Very true, which is why this type of behavior always bothers me, because it affects so many that try to do right.
