MS mistakenly added DDP

For our last trip in August, I had called to ask a question about my points and before we ended the conversation, she confirmed my upcoming reservation. She also mentioned that I had added the DDP on one part of my trip (had to do a split stay) and wondered if I wanted it for the the other resort. I told her that I did not ask to add the DDP on my reservation. She said that there was no problem removing it, but she didn't seem too concerned about the fact that it was added without my consent.

I have another vacation coming up and although I don't really have any reason to call MS, I'm wondering if I should. Should I call them to just confirm that DDP wasn't added?

Or can I just wait until I check in and if it is added just tell them that I didn't? Can I do that?

Has this happened to anyone? I would appreciate hearing your experience.

Thanks.:)

If you are concerned that it is there, I would definitely check it out. If you wait until check in, you might have a problem getting it removed (or at least without a lot of hassle).

Good luck!

The Front Desk CMs can't remove the DDP at check-in. You will need to either call MS or click the 'Enter Celebration Information' link when viewing Vacation Details on the member website. If you click that link, you can view itinerary details on the reservation. If the package type is room only, they didn't add a dining plan.

One week prior to any vacation I take...I call to confirm everything from check in date/resort/dining/room request, ex.... anything related to my trip...just in case.

Thanks, that's a great tip!

Last March when I checked in online, it said "room only" and I had the DDP. :confused3 Hopefully, it was just a glitch that's been fixed. I assumed "room only" signified that it was not a package through CR. But I guess I may be incorrect about that.

Go to www.mydisneyreservation.com and choose the "booked with DVC option" Enter your DVC confirm number and other information required. It will now pull up your reservation, then click on "view itinerary details" If the Dining plan is on your reservation, it will come up under package plan.

I wouldn't be too concerned, I have never in many trips had this happen, nor has anyone I know. Sounds like a simple mixup to me. Disney is not very sneaky and would get a lot of bad press quickly if this were a real problem.

Unfortunately we have learned to call and double check everything with everybody 10 days prior to our trip. You would be surprised how they screw things up. All it takes is one mistake to impact your vacation so we don't take any chances.

Thanks for the link. I have checked it and it does show "room only". :thumbsup2

I'm sure it was just a mistake. I don't think they were trying to be sneaky. I don't think they even care whether I add the DDP or not. I'm just concerned that it may happen again and I don't want to have to deal with it when I check in.

A few years ago, I used to call and confirm and was told a few times that I didn't need to verify. As long as the vacation details are correct then it should be fine. I had a feeling that I was wasting their time. So, after that, I haven't called to confirm. But I did find that when I call for information about points, etc, they would go over my upcoming reservations.

To be honest, I always want to double check everything I book, however, I'm afraid to call and check on it in case something happens when they check it. I always seem to have a few link reservations and I'm nervous that some mistake can be made each time my reservation is accessed. Actually two years ago, I called and wanted to add a day to my reservation and found out that when she linked them again, the date was added at the beginning instead of the end. :confused3 When I called to add a request, I was told of the mistake.:scared1: Luckily, it was fixed --after 40 mins of maneuvering around my reservation. He did mention that an error was made when it was unlink and linked again. So from then on, everytime I called to add a request or add a date, I asked them to confirm again all the dates and just to double check that it was linked.

I wished I didn't have to call after the reservations were made so that there would be less chance of errors. And that's why I didn't want to have to call to confirm that there was no DDP added.
