MS Glitch - It's true!

Our name had indeed dropped off our reservation made by our renter (we're going before SSR opens). He was so nice to check and fix things for us. Our reservation isn't until May so it's not just happening to ressies coming up soon. If you're a renter, you might want to double-check for your rentees. I doubt there's any way this can get fixed by itself - it's not like MS has your renter's name anywhere. Thank you thank you thank you to whoever first brought this to the boards - we would have been sunk!

I bought points from someone here for January, I called her(she is on vacation) and asked her to check our ressie, is their anyone I CAN CALL to make sure our ressies are right?

rk -- You could try calling the resort directly to see if they already have you in their computer. If there is a problem, the DVC member is the one who will need to straighten it out. I don't think MS will do anything that isn't done through the member, even if it is fixing an error.

Do I just tell MS the names of the people renting it, and where does this go on the reservation?

You will actually make the reservation in the name of the person who will check in at the resort. Their name MUST be on the reservation or they won't be allowed to check-in. Once you receive the confirmation, I'd fax or mail the confirmation to the renter so they have the "official" information.

You can call the resort and ask about your reservation, but the member you rented from is the only one who can make any changes to that reservation. If your name has been lost from this reservation, you will need to ask the member to call MS on your behalf. Hopefully, you already have the original printed confirmation from DVC showing your name- at least that would give you some form of verification should you not be able to contact the member you rented from.

FYI--I have 2 ressies coming up soon--one for DD (Jan.) and another for DS (Feb.). Both were made in their respective names, and both were still on the ressies. (I was relieved!)

I have four up coming rentals,all were in my name when I called on Monday. The CM didn't know they had a problem. I switched them back and let my renters know all was fixed. They have a huge problem and are going to have a lot of unhappy campers if people get turned away.

The CM did say they would try to contact the owner and check the ressie if it does happen.

Did you guys have this problem AFTER you had received written confirmations from DVC with the renters name on the reservation?

I recently mailed confirmations for rented studios to my "customer", complete with their names on the confirmations, and am wondering if I need to call. The reservations were made correctly and with the correct names. So unless they changed them they should be ok. Were yours changed after you had confirmations or did they mess the reservations up from the beginning?

I checked a couple of reservations I had pending, all was fine. It's kind of funny how some of this stuff hits and misses.

Mine where made several months ago and the ressies were in the renters name when I sent them out. When I called MS on Monday they were all in my name. I had to change the ressies back to the renters name. No big deal as long as you catch it.
