MS and PS reservations

I must have missed something. When I email MS to make my PS they told me they didn't do that any longer. When did this start.

I may be wrong, but my impression was that they don't do it by email.

Someone posted about a month ago that they stopped taking PS by e-mail. I think it is easier to do by phone. If your requested time is not available, they can give you alternates right there. If you e-mail, they really can't list alternates because by the time you e-mail back it could be gone. Too much back and forth.
