Wednesday 17th Oct RPR/BMG
Today we where transferring to RPR so everyone was up early today, and with a heavy heart we said goodbye to WL, I have to say from a personal point of view this hotel is truly a resort and could easily stand alone without WDW, the only negative is the food court as the options are very poor and really could be a lot better, Q*******ver arrived promptly at 8:30am and we had been upgraded again to the SUV from the van which was nice
, we arrived at RPR a little before 9 I left DW to sort out the luggage while I checked in, I used the Loews check in line , one gripe here when checking in as I'm as Platinum member and I'm already staying club level no xtra upgrades are offered, the girl at check in starts off well then it goes down hill not majorly, but still not good it took her nearly 10 mins to locate my reservation, also she never welcomed us back which we had grown used too, I paid for the duration of stay there and then and put $600 on our key cards via TC, and bonus our room is ready so we head up to our room 3751 and DW arranges for luggage to follow us up, once on 7th floor head to the room, insert key, open door and woah wait a minute the beds not made and there is a suitcase open by the door, okay close door head to lounge speak to staff there tell them problem, the kids decide to grab breakfast while I show a member of staff the room and problem, they agree that's not right and close door, they advise to get breakfast and they'll sort it out, 10 mins later luggage arrives, same thing need to show him the problem as well, give him his credit he does get us another room 3731 within 5 mins and new keycards are brought up, and I have to say made me feel uneasy that front desk could issue keys for a room still in use.
Okay that drama over with we finish up our breakfast and we all agree that the RPR club lounge is very nice and spacious, my first impression of the room we have been given is yuck, the view is not great, but really overall compared to what we had come from to this decor wise it was very poor, we had gotten used to the deluxe rooms at RPR and really for the price they charge for club the rooms should be better,
We opted to leave unpacking till later so we hit the parks, we walked to over to USO arriving a little before 10:30, DS insists we do MIB first which do 4 times in row as myself and DS are competing so far its 2 each plus agent all 4 times, we then head to Jaws, then ROTM a few times, I have promised an internet friend to buy their son a HHN T-shirt for them so I do my shopping plus get a few other HHN souvenirs before heading back to the room around 12:30, the plan was to head to Murphy's bar on I-Drive for the Scotland match, but I assumed the kick off was 8pm back home so 3pm here, but after checking online I see game starts 2 hours earlier so we quickly head out and get a taxi to Murphy's the pub is heaving, DW and DD head out shopping after raiding my wallet, well not much to say except the beer was good the match least said and all that, I offer to take DW to Festival bay but she declines so we head back to RPR after grabbing a burger in Wendys, once back at RPR we change and head to the pool and spend a couple of hours relaxing by the pool,
I have to chase up RPR as I had arrange a birthday treat for DW,
Evening snacks in the lounge are pasta&ham, pasta&shrimp, cheese, dips, salads, nachos, crackers, wine, beer, and for $5 spirits are available
we chill out in the lounge and enjoy the food, drink and ambience and I have to say the the lounge is a lot more relaxing than the HRH lounge, but I do feel the lounge staff are bit up themselves and don't feel any genuine warmth, doesn't make me feel better when I'm asked to show my keycard after my second drink, on heading back to the room our wine has been delivered and the gift basket that DW had arranged for me, she also had to chase this up and another annoying part is this gift basket gets 18% gratuity added automatically so why does the guy still expect a tip, but the gift basket is nice although a bit weird to get three shot glasses even more annoying as I had already bought these shot glasses a few hours before and I'm too lazy to return them
We had tix for the 8pm show of BMG tonight and headed over after 7pm , the queue was huge for BMG although it did go down quickly, tonight's show was sold out, what can I say we thought it was a great show very funny and despite my poncho I still got banana on my shirt sleeve, we also met Steve (Kimber, BCKloon) and family as they had the seats right behind us, they never kicked my chair at all either which was a bonus, but then again I never reclined ,after the show we buy some souvenirs and get our pics with the BMG and cast
We have a wander back to the hotel no wants pizza or other food stuffs, so we head back to room and the kids watch TV while eating some sweets from MNSSHP, we are all in bed by midnight
