Mrs Highlander's Fabulous 40th Trip
Cast: Me:- Steve 40 something,paymaster general
DW:-Jacquie 40 soon will be something,
DD:-Stephanie 16 typical teenager,drama queen, princess (etc,etc)
DS:-Danny 14 (enough said)

Sunday 14th Oct, Cape May Breakie/Pool/MNSSHP
I'm up first as usual around 7am, I dress quietly and have a wander around the resort, I take quite a few pics of the hotel and surrounding area, unfortunately they where on the cards that got lost so can't show my photographic prowess, get a coffee at roaring forks and head back to room, I rouse the troops as we have a 10:00 ADR at Cape May for breakie, rather than rely on buses we get a taxi to Beach Club ($20) the queue for the podium is pretty long and the restaurant is heaving, its only 9:30 when we check in, pager in hand we sit outside as its too busy and noisy inside, after about 15 mins pager lights up which is good as my tummy is twitching now, the food here was excellent, sausages where really good, the character interaction was good as well we had Chip, Dale, Minnie who took a shine to DS, Goofy was good fun as well, we didn't feel rushed at all and spent a good hour in here and we where all stuffed, during our meal my DW was presented with a birthday muffin and we all sang happy birthday, also a real shock was that our kids only got charged kids prices so with tip it was $75

After paying the bill we meandered up to the Dolphin as I had booked DW into the Mandara Spa for a reflexology massage, the kids couldn't understand why its called the Dolphin as its a fish not a dolphin thats featured everywhere there so that passed 19 mins of annoying the kids saying its Disney dolphin, the lobby in the Doplhin is really impressive, DW checks in for her massage and me and the kids wander away, I use the free wi-fi in the lobby, then we get the boat to MGM and I pick up our MNSSHP tix for tonight, we get a boat back to the Dolphin and have a wander around the Boardwalk, I offer to buy the kids ice cream or cakes but they are still stuffed from breakfast, it is pretty warm though so we all get sodas, ESPN is busy as there is a game on I get an Amberbock from beer stand outside and sit on the Boardwalk just relaxing, DD buys a gift from ESPN for her BF, DS try's his hand at the hoops on the Boardwalk unfortunately for DS a couple of teenage girls decide to watch him try the hoops, he fails miserably and nearly smashes one of the store front windows as the ball bounces off and rebounds into the thoroughfare, the girls wander of giggling and me and DD are in fits of laughter DS protests that football/soccer is his game the guy on the stall gives him another go free (sympathy I think), he doesn't do any better gig: ,we head back to the Dolphin to meet DW she really enjoyed her massage and alone time.
We headed back to the Lodge and spent the next couple of hours by the pool, a tip the loungers near the kiddie pool can get sprayed with the geyser and the waters cold, you can imagine how I found that out, had a rum runner from the pool bar, strange thing was they didn't sell ice cream but they did ice cream drinks so DD had nan orange one , I must admit I retired to our balcony around 3 as it was too hot, DS joined me on balcony with his ds, DW & DD came back around 4,

We all got into our costumes for the party, I was Davy Jones from POTC, DD was a tiger lady, DS was Zorro, DW was Jasmine

we got the boat over to MK I wore my mask over and it was funny as all the kids knew who I was but the adults hadn't a clue, quiet a few Capt Jack's gave me the wary eye, on entering MK I was asked not to wear my mask due to H&S reasons. The party was busy, we rode Buzz a few times DS won, HM was good and POTC was good as well although it was empty, we had our photos taken with photopass which was lucky with hindsight, the only annoying part was that the photopass opportunity's with characters took ages as they seemed to interact with some groups while others where rushed through, Tarzan was the worst as he letched over a female for nearly 15 mins in fact everyone left his line eventually it was that bad and complaints where numerous but the staff just shrugged their shoulders ( not great ), we had a dinner of fast food at Cosmic Rays and enjoyed a boogie at Stitches disco, we collected kilos of candy, bought souvenirs by the bags, we caught the last parade and had a great viewing spot from main street station with seats, Capt Jack spotted me and tried to hide on his float (which the kids found funny), we left MK after the parade and where in bed by midnight all knackered

Great day! Loved the costumes! You guys all look great. Can you go to MNSSHP without dressing up, or would you feel out of place? I have never been, but would like to go some day.

I love relaxing around the Boardwalk. I didn't know they sold Amberbock there. I'll have to remember that.

What a great day!! You really know how to spoil your DW...she's a lucky lady!! Loved all your costumes....I agree with Jodie...you all look great!

Thanks guys for the kind comments, loads of people don't dress up for the party so u really don't feel out of place Jodie, on a site note Jodie we'll be in NYC on the 20th till 25th March before flying down to Orlando if u fancy a drink, I even have tix to the NY Knicks v's Jersey
