1. right knee effusion, large, synovitis

2. medial meniscus tear, severe, potentially unstable posterior horn root

3. Chondromalacia right patella, severe

So I have a tear, but what the heck is a "horn root" ??

I see the doc tomorrow.

I don't have a clue but it sounds bad. I hope they can fix it soon. And bumping this up for you.

do you have horns on your head?? that could be where they root...

sorry.. bad joke... hope you are better soon!!:thumbsup2

I can almost guarantee that you will need surgery to repair the meniscal tear. Those almost always require surgical intervention. My neighbor had it done and was up and walking in 2 days! She did have to go thru PT but it was not a life altering procedure. Effusion is usually water or fluid on the knee. Chondromalacia right patella is degeneration of the tissue under the patella. I used to work in xray, but not anymore :-(

Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks guys! I have a friend who is an RN and she said I would probably need a knee replacement. That doesn't make me very happy.

I go this morning at 8:30 and will update this afternoon when I get home.
