Mr Walt E Disney was a republican....

Oh, c'mon, just about EVERYBODY was supporting the war effort in WWII. Hollywood came out in force. Male stars enlisted left and right, female stars helped sell bonds and entertained the troops, and the studios made all kinds of films with the cooperation of the military to tell the great stories of the war and of the civilians' sacrifices at home. At the ends of many movies (even ones that weren't WWII-related), there was a message that said you could buy war bonds in the theater. This wasn't just Disney Studios doing it.

In fact, there was an investigation by Congress into whether Hollywood was trying to influence public sentiment into entering the war before Pearl Harbor.

None of this means that Walt would approve of this war. A lot of people have changed their minds over the last three years and stopped supporting it. My guess is he'd be one of them, but it's only a guess.

Youre not familiar with his work with the military, huh?

One of the links was CNN.

So now CNN is Gospel as well? I guess I'm not understanding the thought process here. You say the media is left wing, yet you attempt to use one article to back a personal belief.

I asked you to please provide me with PEER REVIEWED articles that can be used to either prove or disprove your rationalization. If you are unfamiliar with what 'peer reviewed' or 'referreed' articles are, please ask a left winger, they will be happy to explain; they tend to understand those concepts and are able to achieve more than a 2.5 GPA in school (unlike Dumbya).

Not gospel - but if you had clicked the link, you'd find a verbatim interview with Walt. And I posted several articles - you wanted a verifiable source, and I suggested the CNN one... Guess you dont think CNN is always reliable either! We have something in common!!

Why are you arguing on whether or not Walt Disney was involved in war efforts?? He was. Its a fact youre obviously unfamiliar with...

At what point did I argue that Walt was not involved in war efforts? In WW2, EVERYONE was involved in war efforts. Walt being involved is NOT a huge shocker.

Saying he would support the war NOW, on the other hand, I would argue. Just because someone was FOR a war that was worthy does NOT mean they would back a moron for a war that is all about personal gain NOW.

Once again, you have twisted the facts. It's ok; Dumbya supporters tend to do that.

And yes, I do agree that the media distorts facts, stories and interpretations of events. I do not base my opinion on media reports, so, yes, we do have that in common (as well as not being able to locate the dancing banana..oh wait..here he is..)

Perhaps we both like "breakfast at tiffany's as well??" <sings song to herself>

Dont like it. :badpc:

hmmm...actually i was thinking of the song by Deep Blue Something (although I have seen the movie as well, didn't care too much for it, but Hepburn was a hotty in her day)

the lyrics to the chorus:

And I said "What about Breakfast at Tiffany's?"
She said "I think I remember the film
And as I recall, I think we both kinda liked it"
And I said "Well, that's the one thing we've got"

You guys don't remember that one?

Dumya sing a song? He can barely make it through a pre written speech on a telepromter for Darwin sake. My personal favorite speech of his was his 'screw me once, shame on me, screw me twice, shame on (pause) me". I was rolling at his inability to articulate a speech off of a telepromter even.

So the answer to your question is NO; I didn't really care for the song when they played it repeatedly on the radio 'back in the day', it just had come to my mind when you had said we had 'something in common'. I don't think Dumbya would take a break from his 300 day a year vacations to bother to serenade me anyway....lol

Okay, so Walt was a Republican. The greater issue here is this...
What about the mouse? What party is he linked to, and has he switched at any point in time? That's what I'm wonderin'.

MICKEY FOR PRESIDENT! ::MickeyMo

We're not sure, but we DO know that Goofy can't vote anymore due to the scandal about inappropriate hand placement in pictures (some people will sue for anything  )

Wait, was that goofy or was it another disruptive disney character? I may be mistaken in claiming it was goofy; so I apologize in advance if the named character is not correct. Whoever it was, can't vote...lol

A Republican then is different than a Republican now. :)
And a Democrat then (thinking of Truman) is a lot different than a Democrat now.
