We had an absolutely fantastic vacation!. We got lots of rest, were pampered, enjoyed wonderful meals, excellent entertainment, great service and had an all around "magical" time! We made some great new friends as well
The staff were so friendly and great with the kids. Ours kids, aged 3 and 5, LOVED the Oceaneers Club and so did we! My husband and I got to spend some quality time together while the kids had a great time making new friends, meeting characters and having lots of fun in the Oceaneers Club. The counsellors were great and greeted our children by their names by the second day they went in. We never waited in a line to check our children in and to get them out was max. 5 mins. It did seem that there were long lines around lunch time or before dinner, I suppose from parents trying to get their kids out for meals. The Club does service a light lunch (also a dinner) so we didn't take our kids our for lunch as they eat better around other children and some times when we went to get them out for something, they didn't want to go and their response was "no we don't want to go, we're having way too much fun". Yes, the line up was long to get on to the tender to Cabo, but it was our choice, we didn't have to wait if we didn't want to. Some people we talked to waited until 1:00 to disembark and there was no line up. The longest lines were for the characters, our kids didn't want to wait...They enjoyed meeting Mickey and the gang at the character breakfast. The theatre shows were great and the entertainers were really funny, especially the adult shows at 10:30 in Wavebands. They were hilarious. Words cannot describe what an amazing time it was. I would not hesitate to go on another Disney cruise, in fact, when I got home I checked the disney cruise website for specials, and saw that they have a "kids sail free" promotion on to Alaska, a promotion we took advantage of on the MR cruise, so we are contemplating going and meeting up again with the great staff we met on the Wonder. If you're looking for a get-away where you don't want to rush or worry about anything, a Disney cruise is definitely the way to go!!!
3) OK, so we're on 8:15 dining with our 10 kids on east coast time. Fine. But when we get there they have two tables set up for us (despite the fact that I counted no fewer than 5 tables in the restaurant that were large enough for our party -- most of which had people together that were not in the same party). But the tables were not even NEXT to each other (and yes, our reservations were completely linked, so they knew we were one party)! When we asked about moving someplace so we could at least be close to each other we were told, no way, couldn't be done. We ate at animator's palate three times this cruise, maybe the other person was on early dining, so maybe it worked for them? But for us the first time it kept starting to change color and then stopping and trying to restart. The server told us they were having technical difficulties. There was no music at all. Finally they got it to change color, but it was not the transition it was supposed to be. They just turned all the color on all of a sudden. The whole rest of the cruise it stayed completely black and white, so we never got the show the way it was supposed to be. We were told it was just broken.

We're on the Feb 13 MR cruise. Can you tell us what night Pirate Night was? Did they still call it Pirates in the Caribbean night (since the ship isn't in the Caribbean?)
It seems every cruise we go on, we read trip reports afterwards that sound as though those passengers couldn't possibly have been on the same cruise.
Hope DCL gets things figured out at the LA port by the time we get there. Luckily for us we have a Disney-booked whale watch excursion on the second day at Cabo so we'll let the DCL crew member leading it worry about getting us on the tenders. The first day in Cabo (since we aren't doing anything organized) we'll wait until the first mad tender rush dies down (this worked for us in Grand Cayman, too).
Hope some other folks on the MR cruise chime in...inquiring minds want to know!

Susie22,
You mentioned your daughter loving the Edge tween club? Is there a dedicated area for this on the ship now like the Magic has? Disney has not given a straight answer on when this would be completed on the Wonder so I am curious what the set up is.
Susie22 and RVD90277,
I would like to thank you both for your insite. This will be our first Disney cruise however, we have cruised with many other cruise lines. I hope the service gets better because this cruise will determine if we will be Disney cruisers or not. If my husband loves the cruise then we will be sold (I am already a Disney nut). One important aspect will be the food and service. We will not be back if the food is not good to great and the service is what we have come to expect from Disney. Disney's entertainment is always top notch and we expect it to be consistant on the cruise. It saddens me to hear so many negative comments about the Wonder these last few weeks I "Wonder" why the stark contrast? Anyways, thanks once again for you honest opinion.
Jeanne
The Edge has bee up and running o the Wonder since mid December now.
Someone posted pics on here..... I'll see if I can find the post. The Edge is for ages 11to 13.

First timer question about tendering. We have an excursion planned everyday through Disney. Where do you meet the guide , on the ship or at the pier after tendering? If the tour starts at 9:15, do we need to plan on starting the tender process 90 minutes early according to some of the posts I am reading.
Thanks
