Hi all to those who've just gotten off of MR cruises on the Wonder,

Do you know how far south you get that first over-night out of LA?

It looks like some cold/rainy weather is headed to the LA/San Diego/Ensenada area for Monday and I'm wondering if we wake up Monday morning if we'll be far enough south by then to enjoy the pools and top deck. I don't want to miss a pool day and sun!

Wasn't sure how fast/far the boat goes overnight and if we'll be able to "outrun" this potential Monday So. Cal. cold front. Cabo looks great for Monday but not sure we'll be that far south by then.

Thanks!!

Interested in this as well. I was actually looking at this today as I was worried about rough seas and trying to map the route via Google Earth. My SWAG (guess) says you should be south of Ensenada by the next morning. I believe cruise ships travel about 22-24 knots. If the ship leaves at 5pm (?), by 8am you have traveled for 15 hours. I would guess it takes about an hour to depart the harbor area. In any case that is somewhere around 350 miles.

I hope your guess is right! I would think they would make good speed once getting out of the harbor. I want some sun and pool time on Monday. Really hoping to be south of Ensenada by breakfast and past that cold front!

I'm not sure how far we got on the first day of the 2/13 MR, but it was pretty chilly for most of the first day at sea. By late afternoon it was really warming up and the weather in Cabo it was GORGEOUS!

Well, I can tell you for our sailing (PV/Cabo/Cabo on Weds-Friday), we didn't get to Cabo until Tuesday around lunch. My DD had a 12:30 hair braiding appointment, they called at noon as asked if we could come early. When she was in tha chair, that is when we were going by Cabo. The CM was pointing out the dolphins, whales and sea turtles while she was braiding her hair.

Monday was a little chillly. Tuesday was a whole lot nicer. ;)

The first day is pretty cold up on deck regardless. The second day is still pretty cold/windy until you get past Cabo. After that, it is nice. The last day back was cold, windy and wavy as soon as we made it out to the Pacific again. The last day it seemed people spent most of the time indoors watching movies, going to the stores, Shutters, in line for guest services (to settle accts/tips), booking future cruises, etc. etc. We did the galley tour which was interesting.
