Mr. Potato Head ????

The way I am reading it is that you don't want the potato head in your box at all, as it will take up room that you could use to put parts into. But that you should bring the head on your vacation with you, so the kids can play with it after you have actually bought the parts.

I know you said that there were no parts exclusive to Disneyland, but do you think they will add something for the 50th? Perhaps, so Golden Ears? Or maybe retro ride bases? I can't remember, can the bases fit in the box or are they sold separately?

Just to get this straight. I can bring my own potato head pack it full of parts and separately pack the box all for $18.00. My own potato head doesn't have to be put in the box when purchased?

You would bring your own potato head just so you would have it to play with; don't bring it with you to the store. Then you would just pack parts in the box.

DD is not going to go for that so I think I'm going to let her get her own potatoe THERE, let her doll it all up or pick her parts then I'll buy my own and NOT get the potatoe just extra parts for her!!

So the hats that go on the potatoe heads are NOT Disney related? Just all regular potatoe head stuff? In one of the pictures in this post it looks like there are some "ears"? Do you know?

If you can get the potato head someplace else, take it with you to Disneyland, but do not take it to the store. Pack all the necessary parts and the other accessories in the box. There are heads at the store, too, so you can try on the accessories on those heads, but you do not have to buy them.

If you do end up getting the head, open the compartment, and fit what you can inside, then whatever else you can around the head. Whatever you fit in the box and still close the lid is what you get to take with you.

Note - even if you have hands, get the ones at DCA because they can "grasp" the accessories like the Mickey glove, Mickey ice cream bar, etc. Things I remember them having: Goofy hat, Mickey hat, Mickey's sorcerer hat, Mickey groom hat, Mickey bride hat, Mickey balloon, glove, and ice cream bar. Minnies shoes...

They also sell "kits" that have the Potato head & accessories all together, however, you do not get as many parts. You can see these at the back of the store in the pic I posted, and you can see some samples of of Mr. Potato Head on top.

There is no time limit to get all this stuff. When we went, the store was kind of empty, so my SIL had a lot of time - she spent probably a half hour in there. If the store is crowded, however, I would imagine your time would be limited by the people who are waiting.
