Hi,
I've been reading about everybody talking about the Mr. Potato Head accessories they sell in Disney. I saw someone mention that the one they bought at home didn't fit the accessories. I bought a Classic Mr. Potato Head by Playskool at Target and was wondering if this is the correct one. How tall is the one needed to fit the accessories?

Thanks

The accessories fit all standard size Mr. Potato Heads. They don't fit the junior size ones.

Hi,
It was 4.99, also had Mrs. Potato head for the same price. They also had a Target exclusive bucket, with 2 potatoes, mr and mrs. accessories and a baby potato for 9.99.

where do you buy the potato head parts in disney? this sounds like a lot of fun!! tell me a little about this please! Thanks

Rebeccapaige!,

If I recall correctly, it's at the World of Disney, ay Downtown Disney. There is (or was last time I was there) a display with a bunch of bins with various accessories. You get a potato and all the accessories that you can fit in the box with it for a set price. Right now, my 2 yr old DD is very into her Mr. Potato Head, and I'm hoping she'll still be just as interested when we go in January.

This is something I'm really looking forward to doing during our trip to WDW in January.:)

You can purchase parts in a few places. They are available in the gift shop in ToonTown in the MK and we bought ours on Hollywood Blvd at MGM. They are in the Once Upon a Toy store at Downtown Disney.

My 2 year old was actually playing with the parts while I was filling our box at MGM. Turns out he was the first person to build a potato head that day. They took his potato and put it on display in the store. We got a cute certificate which says that he had the "Mr. Potato Head of the Day".

Have fun!

I'd like to get this for my niece's birthday but she will only be 2. I'm worried that this is too young. Does anyone know what the recommended age is?

Hi

I just returned from WDW and bought the parts at the gift shop right behind the Dinosaur ride at AK, there are several places throughout WDW that sell the parts. However I would recommend buying the parts at the Once Upon a Toy Store at DD as they had a lot more accessories plus had the computer screens where you can make your potato head and print it out on a postcard. I was disappointed when I saw that the selection was better at DD but didn't feel like paying another $18 just for the other parts.

The recommended age range is 2 & up. I was so thrilled that I could get this for my 2 year old son! :)

There were also some potato head parts in the gift shop of Pop Century. I think Once Upon a Toy in Downtown Disney has the most complete collection of parts, though.

If you buy your potato head at Target ahead of time, like I did, don't forget to pick up some arms at Disney. The standard arms don't hold anything.

this sounds like a blast I cannot wait!! Thanks for all the hints!! So its $18 for a box of parts? without the potato? anyone have pictures of this!! sorry I'm so curious this seems like the coolest thing!!

It was for whatever you can fit into the box. My DD didn't have a Mr. Potato Head so we purchased him there as well. He has a compartment in the back that we stuffed with parts, then put him in the box and stuffed the remainig space with parts. Just be aware that the box must close properly. Last year when we were at Downtown Disney, they were VERY picky with us about that. We were unaware till we went to check out. They made us take out the excess parts or rearrange them better so the top would close better. It kind of interlocks at the top like a happy meal or cereal box. Don't know if they are always that picky or the CM's were just having a bad day.

DD loves it to this day and to me it's a great souviner and definately worth it...

This is too cool!! What a great idea for my youngest.. I bet she would have a blast picking out what she wants.. There is so many neat things for the kiddos nowadays...

It definitely depends a lot on the CM. We struggled so long with our two boxes (one for the school) that a CM came over and volunteered to help. She dumped out what we had done and started over, fitting much more in that we had and filling it fuller than I would have dared.

When we got to the register, it was her and another cashier. I let someone go ahead of me to make sure the same CM who filled the box rang it up, just to avoid any problem.

She was really a gem.

I think it has to do with the CM. We got ours at a store in AK. The box was bursting and we barely got it closed and the CM gave us a "wink wink" and said " Good job!" He was the one who encouraged us to stuff the box.:D

Benny's has Mr. & Mrs. Potatohead on sale this week for $3.99 each!

I have filled boxes 2 or 3 trips now, my kids have a huge box of heads and parts, they love them, they will do several potatos at once, and since they are twins I need 2 of everthing, hence buying so many filled boxes, but they are really fun!
