Mr Potato Head - TSM Queue

Not long back from an awesome 2 week trip at WDW! First trip back in 5 years

Was loving Toy Story Mania and was on the attraction a good 15+ times... One time going through the queue, Mr Potato Head seemed to be "live" with a real person manning him, "Hey you kid in the blue shirt, what's your name etc"... am I going mad, is this a thing? If so how often does this happen? I only saw it the once

You are not going mad. It used to happen, randomly, but I haven't seen him operating in years. Always disappointed when we walk past and nothing happens.

He was talking when we were at an early morning AP event a couple weeks ago. It was crazy. My 2yo freaked out and I had to carry her through the (empty) queue.

So glad to hear that feature is back. I missed Mr. Potato Head. Carbs and sarcasm.....where else ya gonna get that???

I had actually never seen him before (had only ever done the FP line) until the AP event last Friday. DD4 made us sit there and watch him for several minutes. Too funny.

He does talk, but I don't think it's a live person or to anything specific. I think he just has preset dialogue and it keeps it vague "Hey you kid, in the blue shirt", "Hey lady in the white shirt, lets keep it moving", "Hey sir, are you taking a picture of me". It's vague enough to where it can pertain to anyone who might happen to be in the line and hear it.

Although I could be completely wrong and it could be a live person. I however have never seen Mr Potato Head be specific or have a conversation with anyone.
