Hi, not sure if this is really the right place to post this ?, but not sure where else to ask it!! :confused3

I think I read somewhere that you can get special Disney Mr. Potato Head parts. I'm thinking somewhere in DTD??.. Anyway, we have some close friends whose girls LOVE Mr. Potato Head and I was thinking it would be a nice souvenier to bring back for them. Wondering :
1. where to go??
2. How much??
3. Do the pieces fit any size potato head body, so that I could save by not buying the biggest piece??
4. Do they only come pre-packaged, or can you pick out what you want??

I'd really appreciate any input! Thanks!

26 days and counting, and trying desperately to get myself together!!

They are sold at Once Upon A Toy Store at DTD.We stayed at Pop Century and it was sold there as well.I believe I paid $18 for the box.You can fill the box with as many pieces that you can fit in there. You can fill the potato also. There were your basic pieces and a wide variety of Disney pieces. They also have some ready made kits-Christmas,surfing Halloween,Easter and a pirate set that were $10-12 each. They also had the disney rain poncho.

The store you are looking for is Once Upon A Toy in Downtown Disney. When you walk in the front door the Mr. Potato Head parts are right there. It's $18.00 to fill a box and as long as they can close the top it's all yours.
My wife got some great parts all Disney related, just remember all the regular parts are there and you can get them anywhere you want to get as many Disney parts as you can.

I believe that you do NOT have to buy the potato head if you already own that. Perhaps somebody can verify that?

You do not have to buy the head.Whatever you want to put in the box is up to you.We filled our box with all Disney pieces as we have several potatos at home.It was no problem

You do not have to buy the Potato Head part. We did this on our May2004 trip and the kids (and DH and I) really had fun filling the box. Be sure to pick up a pair of arms for Mr. Potato Head so that he can hold all of the Disney pieces (his Mickey Ice Cream Bar of course!) This trip they also had some specific pieces for NY such as Statue of Liberty Headband and torch. So cute!! Have fun!

Yes the cost is the same. You are paying for as much as you can put in the box. Without the body you can probably get more pieces in it.

Ok, another stupid question- do people that have a Mr. Potato Head at home bring the box with them? Or do they just sell the box only at DTD? Sorry it's taking me so long to catch on to this concept!!

I packed only Disney parts in my box for $18. When we got back home we bought Mr. Potato Head at Target.

Has anyone seen Darth Tater at WDW? Just wondering since Star Wars weekends are going on now.

It's OK :) The box people are referring to is not the box your home Potato Head came in, but a specific box at the DTD store that you try to cram whatever you can into it.

My wife (the expert packer) took care of stuffing the box; I can't believe how dense she got it! We already had a potato head at home, so we didn't get another one.

They have enough pieces that you can't get a complete set in one box. Well, gives us something to get for next time!

to everyone who replied. I'm looking forward to filling a box ar two. Although it does seem strange to go all the way to WDW to get Mr. Potato Head parts when the Hasbro Co. is only 1/2 hr. away from me at home! :earsboy:

Anway, thanks again to everyone who took the time to reply!

25 days and counting till our first trip to WDW!!! :Pinkbounc

I had seen Mr. Potato head at World of Disney store, then I talked to CM because next time, they were not there. He said they were all moved to the store at Star Tours. I have since seen the Darth Tater at Walmart for less $.

My suggestion for getting the most out of your $18 box. Pick out the pieces you want 1st. Load the biggest pieces in the box 1st, then the little ones stuffed in around it. My son packed his box and had it filled to the gill. I dumped it back out and repacked it my way, and he was able to get alot more stuffed in there. I also tapped it a couple times on the counter and it made even more room.

You can also find the potato parts at Mouse Gears in Epcot.

after looking at your phot's, I just have to comment that the box doesn't look very big.
